charging system problem... help!!!

Todd
I have a 1976 cb705 trike. (custom!) it was working good last year but I changed the motor out with a spare I had,  cause it ran the cam dry of oil and damaged the end.  The problem I have is that I transfered most of the electrical over to the new engine and now when I hook up the silicone rectifier it blow the fuse instantly.  I have tried removing the alternator and voltage regulator from the equation, even yellow wires were temporarily removed.  when I hook up the green and red wires on the rectifier to ground and power it pops the fuse.  I've tried another rectifier with the same result.  I'm stuck.  The only thing that I can think of is that it all has to be hooked up and working to not pop the fuse. anyone, any help, please.....

Sounds like you may have a short somewhere in a harness or something. Check out all your harnesses and wiring and make sure you aren't having bare metal anywhere.
Turbos, Hondas, 4-bangers, what could go wrong?

Do you have the wiring guide? You are definitely crossing something over.
We have the manual here and it will have the wiring diagram, download it and retrace everything.
