Ok found a few leaks at the boots, slid the clamps up on the lip, cranked down and voila fixed.
Found one spark plug was different than the others and an old resistor at that! Outlr bikes don't use resistor plugs! Well changed it out for one like the rest and she is purrin now. Idle smooth. Ride smooth. Now to check the plugs after another tank to diagnose if jets are needed
How am I jumping all over the place? The 82 carbs or mine anyways per the manual has no vaccuum diaphram (on the needle slide I assume you are talking about) so that is irrelivant. All carbs and slides operate correctly minus one float sitting higher than the rest. They are unadjustable and the needle is not worn or binding so I'd say it is simply a flaw in the float. Please due proceed to tell how I am going about it incorrectly. You knew the process which I tore my bike apart, listened to my bike, and measured appropriate variables? Unless you watched me diagnose the bike please don't assume anything I did was incorrect. After all, the bike is running great now. I started at the jugs and worked back. Taking off the carbs and air box completely. Dissassembled and cleaned the carbs, reassembled with air box and then tested. Found the leak. Anything wrong there? Pulled all of my plugs and found one wasn't even the same. Kinda hard to do that incorrectly as well. Seems to me like I was pretty darn thorough today and all that is left to do is pull the pistons and measure the rings. But I do appreciate your concern for my ineptness to turn wrenches or diagnose.
