reef5000
Hi my name is Mark and I am new to your forum.I have just bought 1974 cb 750k5,which was incredibly made same month and year like me 8/74.Anyway I was just come to see if you guys would not mind if I ask some questions about restoration and general maintenance(probably many questions)I have never own bike with carbs or that old all together,so most of the things on it are unknown to me.Iam mechanicaly inclined allright so hopefully this will be joy to work on.Is there any way to download shop manual? How much different is K5 from say K2?What is K5 mean? What sort of engine is it?Most inportant, does anyone who have the same bike or similar live around Nashville,Tenn.Thank you so much for your support and answers.

Hey Mark. Welcome to the forum. The 5 in K-5 just means it is the 5th year of production. Honda did not change the bike much from 69 (K-0) through 76 (K-6). The 69-78 CB 750's have an over head cam four cylinder engine. This engine uses many of the same type of components as most automobile engines. Such as babbitt bearings, for the crank, and adjustable rocker arms. They are pretty much bullet proof. I know of one with over 200,000 miles on it.
Feel free to ask questions. We are here to help.

Good to have you! If you are mechanically inclined at all ,you will be fine. Very simple machines to work on and parts are readily available. Good luck and we need PICS!

Mark, the FSM (Factory Service Manual) should be available from the Home Page, here.  Check at the very top of the forum postings for the link.  Otherwise, Clymer makes a decent manual for these bikes.  Clymer manuals can be found on e-Bay, and Amazon.com, used, for very little money.  Let us know what you need help with.  Cheers!

Have a K3 that I have rebuilt into a cafe. Now my daily rider when not raining in Vero Beach Fl.   Will post pictures when I can.  Also new to the forum.  Hope I can help (or get help) with problems that these bikes have.  This for me is a constant work in progress and I love every min of it.
