Very cool site. However he is wrong about the interchangeability of the front sprockets. The 69-76 sprocket will go right on the 77-78, and the 77-78 retainer will work perfectly. The 77-78 sprocket will go onto the 60-76 (but why would you want to put a 630 chain on?) You just need to use a snap ring to hold the sprocket on. Just get one that fits into the groove that the original retainer went into.

Also wrong on the 77/78 rear sprocket. They came with 41 tooth not 42.

Just add his knowledge to other info you find IRL, on the web, or in forums like ours.
Then temper it with your own experience.  Going with the term "expert" in your title opens you up to increased scrutiny.

Luke, such wisdom. I used to get a real kick out of the guys that would call themselves "Master Carpenters." I used to make a lot of money repairing their masterful work.

I have known people who have multiple doctorates, and loaded with head knowledge.  Ask them what's involved in changing the oil in a car, and you get a look like you were showing card tricks to a dog.

Give me a guy with little book knowledge, but tons of common sense and a desire to work, any day.

Thanks for the compliment, TOOLS. I'm flattered.  I can't say I'm an expert at any one thing, but I would say I know a little bit about a great many things. Cars, computers, network systems, cable TV, basic automobile operations, cooking, customer service/management, mowing a lawn, and most of all, how to play bass guitar (that, I would say, is what I'm best at).  I guess somewhere in there is some knowledge about CB750s and the VT700c.  I pass on what I know, and hope it helps someone else. If it does, great.  If not, then I just smile and move on.
