looking for an oil temp gauge

I would like to find a 1 1/2" black face oil temperature gauge. Preferably a mechanical gauge. I could work with an electric sending unit if I must. Liquid filled would be nice too,but not a deal breaker. If you run across one let me know.Thanks.

If I put this post in the wrong spot it wont hurt my feelings if you move it

Thanks guys. I appreciate the effort but finding the 1 1/2" dia. is what is killing me. I can get the 2 1/16 gauges all day,its the little one that is hard to find. I can find it in water temp, which i know will still read accurately from experience, but the scale tops out at 250 degrees. I understand that is about the normal operating temps for these bike??  Thanks again

Lucky, the dipstick gauges are cool but I am looking to mount on my handlebars to watch while I'm riding. I may look into how the dipstick styles are made.It may be adaptable.

I should have put in my original post that I was looking for something to mount on the bars. I got my oil pressure up there, now just trying for oil temp. I might have to step up to the 2 1/16 size, but really didnt want something that big. I like the smaller size

Shiny, I really like how your gauges are shaping up.  I was thinking about doing something similar.

Did you fabricate your gauge mount?

Shiny, I measured my bike's oil temperature, two-up, with full saddlebags, and trunk, riding 60 MPH, in 80 F ambient temperatures:  it ran at 250 F, for 2+ hours, under these conditions.  Dino oil breaks down into carbon sludge at temperatures over 250 F, so Honda designed these engines, to run at their very limit, thermally.  If you run dino oil, you may want to switch to full synthetic, which doesn't break down into carbon sludge until 400 F...

Not sure about Shell Rotella T6's breakdown temperature, as it is a highly refined dino oil, rather than a true synthetic, such as Mobil 1, but it does everything else that a full synthetic does, for less money.  Running the engine oil above 250 F will also cause deterioration of seals, and gaskets; running synthetic will prevent sludge build-up, and prevent your oil breaking down, but it won't help your seals and gaskets any, other than the additives they put in it, if any, to extend their life.  Cheers!

Turbos, Hondas, 4-bangers, what could go wrong?

Or...

(Guy has Stewart Warner gauge; I'm impartial to 'em)

If you're on a tight budget, you can get this one and take it out of the pod:

Never been a fan of Sunpro myself though.

You have mechanical knowledge.

I have Google-fu.

I also have a turbo'd Integra in the garage.

Ah, a turbo guy! I may have to pick your brain someday. I have a '48 Oldsmobile I am planning on putting an LS motor in and a pair of turbos. I have built blower motors before, and been around a few turbo'd cars, but never built one before.

I don't know anything... ;)

I did the entire build myself, all the work, except tuning. I'll let the experienced pros do that.

I'm building the motor this year, dependent on my job's outlook. I'm a contract guy (been there 3 years) and they're only now preparing to kick me out the door. They're hiring internal only for my job. :(

Anyone out there know any good openings for a Network Analyst or Computer Security expert? I'll get you into an ex's social networking account....
