spoked wheel adjustment?

steve
Hi,after some fantastic help on this forum I finally have my cb750f1 ready, well almost! Iv'e noticed the rear wheel is slightly buckled when spinning,i'd say as I look at the wheel from behind the bike I can see a good half inch from left to right as it spins on centre stand.could I adjust by the spokes,is it a concern as it doesn't affect the ride, thanks for any help on this.

If it were me I'd want to get my hands on a new wheel.  I know from my mountain bike days that once a rim is bent it'll never be structurally the same.  Not sure about motorcycles as the rims are obviously much burlier.

At the very least I would fix it.  At high speed that will definitely be noticeable, especially in corners.

Be safe.

I would think 1/2'' would be unrideable . If you can get it true with the spokes then it would probably be OK. I dont know if it would be spokes or a bent rim being that far off. Even if it was rideable it would have to eat tires like crazy. Factory spec on runout is .080'' max.

I would definitely do something about it before riding it anymore. Good luck and be safe!

I don't have a lot of experience with motorcycle wheels, but if it was a bent rim I would want to be damn sure it was safe.

Bikes aren't the same as cars.  You only have two wheels and no roll cage.  I wouldn't mess with sub par wheels/tires.  Losing control due to a blowout at 100 kph is not something I ever want to deal with.
