Indeed.  I use the rotella.  The diesel oil has also been toutes as being good for bikes as it's meant to keep lots of stuff in suspension (like clutch particles).  I run cheap, and change often.

Oh certainly not debating you woods. Merely pointing not all bikes are wet clutch, sorta the old useless info thing. While I will never pay for motorcycle oil unless there is absolutely no choice, I wholly agree with the friction modifiers being bad. Mainly why I stick with good diesel oils as they usually will never have that. Closest thing to cycle oil without the exorbant price tag.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

I run Shell Rotalla T6 Synthetic, 5W-40.  The "5W" is its Winter weight/viscosity.  It is only 5 when it is cold; it thickens up to 40 as the oil warms up.  No issues in any of three bikes, and three 4-wheeled vehicles running it.  Putting it into my small engines as well.  Honda recommends 10W-40 oil for their 750's, so a 5W-40 is just fine.  Cheers!

synthetic oils do NOT clean, but the "base" additives in all HD oils that does the cleaning.  You need to brush up on your statements.  the base or alkali additives do the cleaning. These additives are there to fight the acid buildup in oil to extend the oil changes.
