those stubborn rings

pat english
trying to get the rings off 1 piston and it doesnt want to budge..its been soaking in oil for a few days..all the other rings came off easy..any tips?

I used a small pair of needle-nose pliers and pulled the one side out and up.
If you pull them too far out, thy will snap: not good if you plan to re-use, but if you're not, who cares??

yeah i sprayed them with pb blaster and most of them came loose.then stuck them in a bucket of oil for a couple days and that one still hasnt come loose.yeah i already snapped one ring..i got a new set of rings comin in the mail..not a good idea to reuse old rings.

Once you get the rings out,sounds like your gonna need to clean the grooves out.There must be a lot of carbon build up.
