1974 Honda CB750K4 For Sale with only 1,074 miles

javahou
I inhertited my fathers 1974 Honda CB750K4 that has been sitting in a garage for 20+ years. Trying to figure out how much I could sell it for. The bike was running fine before storage. Not sure it would start as the gas was not drained from the motorcycle before storage. Any idea on how much I could sell for or the best way to market? Thanks

Well it would be hard to say. Given how long since it ran, lookswise is should be pretty nice. theproblem is that seals and such are possibly no good. Personally I would pay no more than $1000 for a bike not running in that sort of shape. If it was running, probably another 500 or more. Best thing to do would be to watch ebay for a bit and see what similar bikes are going for. If anything, you could take some time and check out the carbs and clean them up and maybe change oil/filter and see about a battery. Might get a few more looks then and maybe a higher price.

If the bike's still mint, and you go through everything making it truely top-top I've seen these SOHC's bring HUGE money in a low-mileage, all original state....Like $5-6k on ebay.

I think a lot will depend on how much work and money he wants to put into it. If he just wants to get rid of it, then he probably wont do much or put much money into it. I have seen some go for 2500 in good running order and very clean. I suppose he has to weigh what he wants to spend to restore. If he is good mechanically, then all he has is parts. If he is not, a shop will cost a lot. I based my answer on him not wanting to do much work and just move the bike.

Kelley Blue Book lists a good running one at $1900.  Do you have it posted anywhere with pictures?

Your bike is worth alot more than $1000. Watch out for low ballers who pray on people who don't know
what a classic bike is worth. I paid $1000 for my 74 running with just under15K on it two years ago. I just saw a clean 74 on Ebay with 32,000 on it, the seller was asking 4,995. Hey Flyin Hawian? There was a famous Moto crosser (I can't remember his real name) who used that handle, is that you or was it your dad? He was crazy fast. Used to run the Baja, and kicked butt. Man 1074 miles! that is unheard of now days. I'd buy it but my wife would kill me LOL.
I can see November from my house
