Sprockets for CB750

Lucky 1
This post was updated on .
I have a 1978 Honda CB750K.
It is a 1978K model.
The sprockets were 15-41 stock making it 2.7:1 ratio.
The problem was that the sprockets were massive and heavy.
They were the #630 sprockets and chain.

I wanted #530 sprockets and chain.
Yamatoya Motor Sports was VERY helpful to get me the right sprockets.

I got the #530 sprocket and it was very well made and fit like a glove.
It was a JTF 288-17 It was made to fit early models 750's and up to 1978 models.

Yamatoya Motor Sports is now going to help me with getting a 45 tooth
alloy sprocket #530 for the rear wheel. That will give me 2.6:1 ratio.

They answer the phone and call you back too!!!

That is pretty cool, but how about a link to their web site, or the phone number?

This is the #520 sprocket. Very well made and fits perfect.
Fits early and 1978 model CB750K.

As soon as I get a number for the rear sprocket I will let you know.

Look down on this post and you will see that the rear sprockets ARE available also.

What is the difference/advantages  between the 520 and 630? I have the rear sprocket only and need to get a chain and front.  Willing to swap something over if it needs to be. New guy here searching for info! Thanks

520 is lighter. It takes less power to pull it. Also it is less expensive.

You can measure it. I do not know what the measurements are off hand, but I am sure a google search will find them.

I got a call from Tom at Yamatoya Motorsports and he told me today that He can get a 43 tooth and a 45 tooth rear alloy sprocket for the rear for #530 chain.

He told me he will get a kit together for the CB750 people!

43 tooth rear= 2.52:1 And the 45 tooth would be 2.64:1 (17 tooth front sprocket)

A 18 tooth front sprocket is available also in steel for the front
and that would give you 2.3:1 with a 43 rear and 2.5:1 for the 45 tooth rear.

So that is 4 different choices. 2.52,2.64,2.3,and 2.5 exactly

Nice!!!  Thanks for the legwork, Donald.  We need to add them to the parts sources part of this board.

I appreciate it.

I wanted to add that I've been talking to Tom at Yamatoyo over the last 24 hours about the same thing and he is the most helpful guy.  As Donald said, he works very hard to find what you need and communicates ie calls back, tells you what is happening, responds to texts etc.
