    I really like the way you used the rear seat/fender bracket to form the rear of seat pan(maybe its done hat way always ) should be
   When it comes time to fill thoughs leg dents how ya thinking.

hey thanks bud...i was just guna use bondo to smoothe out the knee dents..but they still need some work.will hopefully finish them up in the next couple weeks..i still need to sand blast the tank and a few other things.

Man,it's hard to build something form the ground up,and then sell it. Real hard. Thats why I have so much junk. I cant blame you for keeping it. OH,I see you decided against clearing the frame. I was kinda looking forward to that

 Make a simple for you suggestion,
Just (after blasting)mix a "Lil" fiberglass Resin and pour it on/in dent and slowly move tank so it flows around inside of dent ,it will set-up in 10min. or so ,but the idea is to keep it all even and flowing the same that can't be done as nice sanding and guessing,now if not enough just do again no need to sand/grind again,I've seen resin 1 1/2 inches thick on boats,So don't worrie about thickness,could fill the whole thing and puddy edges not even tell ,less you hit it, metal would dent res. wont.

   I'll be pouring some on my bag lid to give ya the idea,did to my front fender already

yeah im already pretty attached to it...also have a secret turbo plan for it after its "done"..

i would love to cleer the bare metal,but from what ive seen(did it on a bicycle and it rusted under the cleer in 2 weeks) id rather get some paint on it..

so my gasket kit came in the mail today..was getting ready to assemble the top end and i dropped a piston on the ground and broke it..easy $500 mistake.im guna box everything up and come back to it in the winter time.i guess i just need a brake.guna try to save some money and focus on casting some more tattoo machine frames and tattooing.

Tanks only get recertified about every 3-5 years.

What makes you think it needs to be re certified?

I have replaced those bushings on two different carbs with PTFE bushings and I can source them for you.
That way you will not have all that corrosion going on.
Just remove the old beat up corroded bushing . Carefully. Fully support the casting as you tap them out.

I will come back with the bushing source.

Oh no! :( I'm so sorry....ugh what a bummer. I feel for you too bro. I have had so many setbacks with my cb. You know what they say "the harder the struggle, the bigger the payoff"! Quotes are for my pops that said that. :) stay up brother.

I did not lose a bushing. I do not lose motorcycle parts.

I replaced the bushings on purpose in two sets of carbs because they were crumbling.

You have a bronze sinterd bushing (compressed metal) in a aluminum casting.
Then you have a steel shaft inside the bronze bushing.

It is best not to have bronze next to steel and
aluminum next to bronze or brass is even worse.
40 year has taken its toll.
