Not perfect?! They look brand new! I thing about shaving the tabs off the frame: do you plan to run pod filters? Reason I ask is,my pods tend to fall of constantly. Those two tabs that used to support the airbox can be used to make a bracket to hold the pods on. I have literally rode hundreds of miles with a pod laying on the tranny. I have no idea how I havent lost one yet. Just a thought.

I agree, these frames look so much cleaner with that pass. peg triangle gone.

thanks bro..what tabs are you talking about?..anyways, plan on running velocity stacks...ill know i hear a bunch of crap about it,but i really dont care.my 72 ran fine with stacks..

i was looking at the frame today,i ive decided i want to try to use the stuff ive cut off to make my rear loop section and possibly something else..i think it will be cool to recycle stuff off the frame and reuse it.ill post up some pics tomorrow evening of what i mean(hopfully i dont fuck it up)

Dude, that tank is hideous!!! You really need to do something about that... I love cut-down frames. There just ain't nothing better! You're a smart man for leaving that rear brace on. Mine was in the way of where i wanted my tail fairing so I whacked it. Not a big deal if you are smart enough to replace it with something...which I wasn't .Handling was quite funky. I only recently added a support back in there between the upper shock mounts. No more wiggles while cornering hard Keep it up,it's lookin' real nice so far

I thought, you had a "K". That's an "F". Before you bring your cylinders home, make sure they put some taper back on the bottom inside, so the rings slide in easier. The shop that did my Buddies did not do that, and I took it back, for them to do it.

The 1978 engine is a much better engine.
It was the last in the SOHC series and had 21 improvements.

More cooling fins.
Better clutch.
Bigger valves.
Better valve guides.
Larger cylinder head studs.
4th and 5th gear ratios are higher.
Engine cases thicker near the chain.

Just to name a few.

If you use an easy out purchased at the hardware store, those spiral kind they almost always break.
You are doomed as soon as you pay for it.
The best easy out is the square tapered style. You have to buy them on line. They almost never break and they always work.
