Were you trying to tap the hole to the original bolt size?

You should have taken a large nut, and set it over the broken bolt. Then welded the nut to the bolt through the hole. Then, you could have spun the broken bolt right out.

Do not get any grease or oil near that oxygen tank!!!! (If it is oxygen)

I noticed it is behind the drill press.
I hope you are going to move those two items to far away spots.

After you guys split the cases,do you replace the shaft seals if they were not leaking?

And can the cases be assembled with the seals in place or install them after the cases are together?

yeah i guess you probly should, but i didnt notice any leaks from other seals when i took it apart so i just replaced the final shaft seal.im not sure if they can be taken off/installed when the cases are together or not,but i imagine they could...that would kinda suck to have to split the case just to replace a $10 seal.

I know the seals can be removed without splitting the cases.
Just wondering if its ok to have them installed before the cases go together.

Compressed Oxygen, and oil/grease do not get along well. They will blow up. That is why, you never lubricate the threads on your torch. Also acetylene becomes unstable over 7lbs psi. So be careful that your oxygen does not bleed into your acetylene valve on your torch, or vice versa.
