"81 CB750C grounding question

Manual
My grounding wire looked pretty nasty and I wanted to drop a new on into place. It came prefabed with connectors but was too thick to fit in the old location. Does this mounting point seem problematic to anyone? It ran well after the change just not sure if this is a good practice.

Same here. As long as it's making good, clean contact to the frame you're fine.

To test a ground point, use a DVM:  connect one test lead to the Negative Battery post, and the other (polarity does not matter for this test) to several bolts on the frame of the bike; if you get less than 5 Ohms resistance, you are golden; any more than that, and you do not have a good ground connection.

You can do a similar test, using the Diode Test Function on your DVM, if it has that setting:  same connection points, only you are looking for a constant beep tone, with a reading (if it shows a decimal reading...) of near zero (represents the voltage drop across the junction).  This is measuring the resistance across the Battery's negative terminal, and the rest of the frame, which should all be connected very well, showing almost no resistance.  Cheers!

I just put a new ground wire in a very similar place, works fine for me.  Consider adding it to the existing circuit instead of cutting out the old one.  I did this by shaving off the rubber housing and splicing a new path to ground from the old wire coming out of the fuse box.  Two grounds certainly aren't worse than one.
