Well, sees, you live in Canada. As I understand it, you CAN'T use non-metric measurements, so 29 lbs is out of the question. You CAN, of course, use 13 kg as permitted by Canadian weights and measures law.

You definitely do not need to use the spring scale. Hang one sprocket from the ceiling, hang a strong hook to the other one, and start hanging weights.
