Dude that is awesome. Are you saying that all that is needed is stock exhaust back pressure and a rejet?
Can you provide more details? Pods used? Jetting? Was the engine otherwise stock, or was an 836 kit used?
Was your throttle curve restored, better or did you have a dead spot?
I want to believe!

I've tuned Constant Velocity Keihin carbs out with pods a bunch of times.

Here's a link to 2 different bikes I built with the same carbs that some of you are saying cannot be used, well I used the pods and these two bikes run great.

First thing to do is remove entire vacuum system and seal tubes.

On the red bike I added small steel baffles plate inside the tail pipes to increase back pressure.

On the orange bike I didn't do anything except re jet because I used the stock tail pipes.

I'm not saying its easy, but it definitely CAN and HAS been done... By me...

Well the throttle curve is not as smooth as stock no, when you open up the air it tends to prefer to be wide open, thats a drag race setup.
But it does work, and with patience and sometimes several re jets, its possible.

Also - with no air box, you can re jet all four carbs in 30 minutes if your fast., just leave the throttle and choke hooked up, and pull the carb bank off to one side and set it on a chair while you switch the jets.

So basically the problem is taking off without stalling or burning out if you run the pods?

Poor throttle response is from idle jets that are too small.

You can change the main jet, but that will not help poor throttle response from idle.

Idle is controlled by idle jet and mixture screw. Thats it.

There is a idle speed jet, and it can be changed to a larger one easily.
