Gas cap vent blocked

alehman
So I only have one real persisting problem with my bike, which is bad fuel flow due to a blocked breather in my gas cap. I have temporarily dealt with the problem by riding with the cap slightly loosened but still snug. Now that I know what's up, how do unblock it? I've tried compressed air and a wire, but nothing has worked so far.

sounds very strange.  Why not just get a new gas cap?  I would try soaking in rust remover or something, just make sure it doesnt eat away rubber

The cap comes apart. The inside is pressed on by four tabs that hold it in by friction. Lift up the gasket on the outside edge then you can use a small 90deg pick to pry it apart once you get it apart you will see the vent hole. This is also a good time to replace the rubber gasket if it needs it.
