What Sixty bucks.

Glad I am putting on universal petcocks. Eighty buck for both petcock with filters plus the weld on bungs to put them on.

But I also am not using oem tank. So that makes sense. Hope it works out for ya Piute.

Re: Just a 78 k

Had to take my petcocks and bungs back they do not fit together.

Thhey tried to sell me two new union nuts. for 73.00 What?

I told them I am not paying more money because they sold me something that well not work together. If you sell the petcock you should sell the right bung that they fit.

They are getting with their sales rep. to see what the problem is and agreed that they should sell the right bung for the petcocks.

Project of the day. Oil tank yes I was told it was off a 1975 knucklehead. Don't know much about  knuckleheads But it went for a good cause.

One side is deeper then the other and it would not set in the frame right so. By by. Cut it so both sides would be the same or close. I cut off the bottom of the peice I had cut off and welded it back on. Ground it down smoth like the other side. Ithink it will fit a little nicer.

For today I got all the electricals mounted in to place, rerouted the the wiring, retaped up all the wiring harness and started mounting the oil tank.
I am hoping to get the battery set up in here.

Re: Just a 78 k

This post was updated on .
More oil tank work today. Cut open the factroy tank and robbed the bungs and breather tube from it. I then laid out the new tank with the old bungs and tube. Drilled out my holes and started fitting.  On what I think is the main line (feed if you well) It needed to be about 2" off the bottom of the tank so not to suck or follow any junk that falls to the bottom of the tank so I put a 5/8 nipple on it. By doing this it allowed me to drop the dung down lower out of the tank and use the factory lines. After getting everything tacked and welded.

I need to test for leaks. Thought about using some thing thin like rubbing alcohol. Any suggestions
