On that fork, you will not need a brace. It would only be in the way of suspension travel. The only time a brace is needed is when, you get to 6 inches over.
I prefer drum breaks on the rear. Water does not bother them, and they never fail, or need to be worked on.

I run with no fender, too.Rocks, dust, leaves dont seem to be any problem. But a wet spot in the road, not a puddle just a wet spot, will get ya.Of course, there is a gap between my headlights. If i had a single in the middle it wouldnt be a problem,i dont think. I ride alot of gravel roads,my usual route i take when i ride starts off with about 3 miles of gravel roads and i dont plan to put mine back on.If that tells you anything.

Piute, that is the craziest set of handle bars i have ever seen!
Deadman, new fenders for these bikes can be very expensive.I would recommend ebay, craigslist or something like that. There may be some in the for sale part of this forum.I have a front fender i am not using,Its rust free but has one real bad dent in it
|
|
I'll check out ebay. Anyone else here from Canada that have parts? shipping costs would be cheap.

Not to hijack but Z1 has all those brake line fittings and banjos on their website, prices didn't look too bad either.

Are you looking to paint it or are you wanting to polish the cases?

Deadman, any part that i want polished i just sand them first. If its real rough then i use 220 grit first.I like to start with 360 first if at possible. The fine the grit, the less it takes to remove to sanding marks later. You CAN polish over 360 grit and it looks ok,but to get it really smooth finish sand with something around 800-1000 grit.I use a cotton buffing wheel mounted on my bench grinder. You can get them at Lowes for around $8.The compound you need will be right there on the shelf next to the compound.Typically you use 3 stages of compound.Heavy cleaning, medium cleaning and high luster.I think that is what they are called in the brand that Lowes carries.Compound and buffing wheel altogether will probably cost about $25-30.Then its all elbow grease and patience from there.Good luck!
