You got a camera?!?! I love that green. Ugly sky,but a pretty bike
|
|
I like the way it looks too much to turn this one into a cafe. I think I'll just get a truckload of swap meet parts, clean them, and assemble the cafe from scratch. Also, I don't have "a" camera, I'm an amateur photographer, I've got more than a dozen cameras! lol
The good thing with the sky looking like that, is the temp drops into the high 70's to low 80's. For summertime in Florida where it's normally 88-95 and feels like 94-105, it's very nice to ride during the pre-storm hours!

It's a 20 acre "natural area" near the beach and that gravel road just makes a big circle through it to another exit just 20 yards from the one my bike is in front of. It's right near the beach down here, so it's great if you want to see what Florida beach dunes looked like before the settlers, and developers screwed it all up. There's several dozen little spots like this here...totally unspoiled....so far.

Hey mark, where was that taken? Is that out west towards lake okeechobee? I finally got my bike road ready and want to take a nice ride out somewhere a little less congested but still near a beach. Any suggestions?

That was on A1A just north of Donald Ross Rd, and just south of Marcinski Rd.

What's the normal leak-down rate for these tube tire rims? I go from the recommended 28psi to just about 15 psi in just 4 weeks. (It's time for tires, tubes, and rim strips soon anyway, i was just wondering)

My Buddy just put two of those same rotors on his bike last week. If I had known he had them, there would be a pattern! However he just showed up with them on.

I've read about how sometimes the original main fuse can just die with the old glass ones....so before I rode up to the shop today to have them look it over, I put the hondaman fuse panel in my pocket just in case. Guess what. It died at a light! I pushed it to the gas station at the corner, and thought, what the heck, lets try it. Plugged in the hondaman fuse panel and started it right up! Hondaman saves the day! Now to install it. lol
(hondaman is on the SOHC4 forum and makes a neat bolt-in fuse panel that takes the new blade (ATO) fuses.)
I was bringing it there, because the guys at this shop actually front a race team and have old bikes they race in vintage events (hoping to get pics of them in action). The shop that put my bike back together got it running, but were unable to properly tune it. This shop will get the tuning right, I'm just waiting for my new baffle and packing to come in next week for the exhaust, then we'll get it running right....finally!
It will be MUCH more enjoyable riding knowing I don't have to slip the clutch and risk ruining it just to drive at low speed at the local cruise-in. I can't wait.....meanwhile, went to look at new bikes again. Can't get it out of my head to have two or more bikes now. (should I say "thanks Tools"? LOL)
p.s. I can go to a local plastic supplier and pick up a few sheets to make a template of my rotor. I know some can't afford to have the drilling done and need to do it themselves, so If I make some templates in plastic, would this help you all drill your own? I know by doing this for those of you that can, I'm not costing the guy that does them any sales since you wouldn't likely have him do yours anyway, right? If you're interested in a thin plastic template to mark out your rotor for drilling, let me know. It may take a few weeks, but I think i can get it done.

Mark,I would absolutely love to have a template of that rotor! You can put me in line for one,Just let me know how much I owe when the time arrives. And if you lose interest along the way,I will forgive you

Sure put me down for one. It would be a great excuse to buy a bigger drill press. TOOLS

What thickness plastic would work best? 1/16" or ⅛" or even thicker? I've never done machine work from a template, so I'm not sure what would work best. You'd just be using it to mark out the rotor, right?
