Pics....I don't have a camera. lol....soon. I was working on the yard all week. I would say it sucks, but since it's my home and not some landlords apartment, it's all good. :)

OK, we had amazing weather today...it's down to 81 degrees (trust me, that feels COOL for this area) and a nice cool breeze to boot, so I went for an hour long ride! No more stalling at lights, smooth acceleration, brakes are ok for stopping, but they squeal really bad. Holding the front brake lever in a touch helps, but I have some adjusting to do before I can take a longer ride....SO close now! :)
The best part of the ride was, unlike with the modern sport bike I had, EVERYONE was turning their heads to look at the old bike! Kids, cops, moms with strollers, joggers.....everyone. You should have seen the GRIN on my married neighbors face when I pulled into my driveway and he realized it was me....he started asking all kinds of questions. :) These old machines really make people look! Makes me realize I NEED to get back into shape. lol

Thats awesome. It's feels good to get out on an older bike and see other people get enjoyment out of it. Seems everywhere you go someone used to have,or knew someone that had, and old CB. People really seem to like these bikes.I know I do! I'm glad it's running good for you now.
I know it sounds backwards, but loosen up the adjustment just a smidge on the dead pad. Bring it away from the rotor about 1/2 a turn at a time on the adj screw.See if that cures your squeal.Put a 10mm and a fat flat head im your pocket and just adjust every few blocks til it stops.Worked for me.I was fiddling with mone constantly but it seems I musta hit the sweet spot.No squeals for about 6-700 miles now. If it doesn't help...I apologize for the mislead.

Yes, I see in the service manual how to adjust it. It says to prop up the front end, loosen the lock nut and turn the adjusting bolt clockwise until some friction is felt at the wheel when you turn it by hand, then to adjust it counter-clockwise until the wheel rotates freely, then give it an additional ⅛ to ¼ turn counter-clockwise and tighten the locknut. I'll try that tomorrow. :)
The Honda tech says he adjusted it right, but with this much squeaking, I think this may be the one thing he was wrong about. we'll see. :) My fingers are crossed, once this is right the bike is DONE! :)

OK, here's the pic. They changed the design from the last one. An adjustable nut was added to the front piece so you can take out the bolt on end too, giving you an additional bit of clearance at the head.

That is a great looking kit. I wish I had a lathe so I could make things like that. If you don't mind me asking, what does something like that cost? You wont hurt my feelings if you tell me to mind my own business

Cheaper than the last time they had them....these are $185 shipped to your door USPS priority 2-3 days.
He's still got 4 kits made and ready to ship....that's 4 people that committed to buying them before they were made, who then backed out. He'll be more than happy to take an immediate sale on any of those 4.

p.s. I was almost one who backed out. There was a payroll snafu at work and I didn't get paid for 6 weeks! Good thing I actually had a savings account, with money in it for a rainy day.

OK, I finally got the brakes adjusted so there's NO squeaking, not even when I'm stopping! WooHoo!
I went for a 15 mile ride, to the gas station, the beach, and a restaurant for dinner. I was stopped 24 times by people who admired the bike! 24 times in just 15 miles! People looked at stop lights, there was a small crowd at the gas station, at the beach.....well, that was nice.
Now if I could just get this warm engine rev-up thing sorted out where once it warms up it wants to idle at 3800 RPM, and I have to slip the clutch a bit to bring the revs down, then I will consider it DONE! :)
I also checked the battery. I fully charged it last week, it sat unconnected for 5 days and remained at 12.14V. After my short trip, the battery was at 13.11V. I guess the charging system is good. :) (I put the rectifier and adjustable regulator from Oregon Motorcycles on it, and the reg was set at 13V. )

I had the same problem but once I got the needles set right and the carbs sync it went away.

Very nice! You've got me jealous, now Hopefully a carb syn will clear up your idle woes. My 750 setup did the same thing last fall and I know for a fact that those things weren't synced up

It may also be the pull throttle cable, the one I had was made wrong and wasn't installed. So there's a new push cable, but the pull cable is still OLD. Maybe it's not closing what it needs to close all the way.

Well, I got to ride it for a few hours today. Then the sky started looking like this....
So I guess it was time to head home. :(
Can't wait to ride again. I don't know if I'll ever get used to all the positive attention from just about everyone. I didn't stop this time, so no crowds. lol
p.s. Battery before 2 hour ride...12.84V (after sitting unconnected for 7 days). Battery after ride...13.4V....I guess my charging system is still working good. :)
