I have found that i dont do well with plans.Whenever i make plans i forget about them and never make it.When i dont have plans i never disappoint anyone, including myself.I am about as organized as kudzu, which sucks, because my OCD makes me want everything tidy around me.Thus,my constant source of stress in my life is myself.Just roll with whatever comes your way.At work today i happened to stumble across a 1966 Honda Superhawk 305.Never saw one before, never heard of one before, obviously never wanted one before...cant stop thinking about it!Now,if i can only convince the owner that it is NOT the most well kept ,desirable and collectible bike of all time i may be able to get it.I so want this thing!Sounds like you got it figured out!Hope it all works for you.The best part of your plan would be the "ride and enjoy it" part. That you should definitely do!

Ah, so that's why they make them, so the sportster guys don't have to use shims with their controls! Good, the 7/8 inch bars are CHEAP. Any brands to avoid due to crappy welding?

Cycle exchange shows them for just $24.95! In black! :)

Mark,i got my Bikemaster clubmans,in chrome, local, for $24.99.Bars are one of those things that the shipping is just to high of a percentage of  the purchase price to warrant buying them online or mail order.Check with your local shop. There is ONE shop that i deal with because this guy has proven himself honest. He's been at cafe's,and bikes in general, for many years.I asked the same question about welds and he said Bikemasters had never let him down. That what i got from him,and i think the TIG welding on the bars look superb.

I like to use the kick all the time and save the battery and button for those quick getaways.

Got the tach, new handgrips, and gas cap seal today from Dime City. Speedo is backordered until next month. They're the only ones who showed a black face speedo with the built in 4 lights like what's on top of the upper handlebar clamp. It will be removed and replaced with a solid one when I get the cafe bars.

Gas cap seal went on so easy. The old one was petrified and came off in dozens of pieces….which is why I covered the tank opening with two layers of blue tape before removing it!

The mini tach is so small, If I were to re-use the stock speedo/tach bracket, I could mount four gauges this size side by side. Hmmm….volt meter, and what…clock? or iPhone mount? Nah, that just wouldn't look cafe. lol

The handgrips I bought because I hate the soft foam grips and bonus, whenever someone asks me what kind they are, i get to reply "Titty Cushion" grips! That's the name! lol

Titty Cushions?!?!  Do you have to produce a 18+ id card to purchase those? Now Mark, you KNOW that you cannot mention some called Titty Cushions and NOT post a pic.
