I started my build the day the Rover landed on Mars.
All comments are welcome ,just no name calling .
I have already ordered a frame. ( NOT MINE) One just like it.
This is the frame.
This is a Cycle One Manufacturing frame.
While I have been waiting for the frame I have been busy getting ready.
I have taken apart the CB750 cafe racer thing and I also made the steel
seat pan for the spring seat that it will need.
The seat pan is my Pizza seat.
I have developed it over a 4 year period.
It is made starting with a tractor seat and is cut down and has a round
solid bar edge all around.
I will taking the engine out of my stock frame tomorrow.
The new bike "ROVER" will look like this:
I have been forming this idea for several months.
I will be using my well worked out and finely tuned 1978 engine with
my 1969 carbs. Runs like a champ.
The fuel tank will get changed.
The handle bars may have to be changed.
The largest challenge will be the rear brake and foot controls placement.
I did not ride much this year but next year I hope to get to ride much more.
I do not know what style of bike to call "ROVER"
It is not a Brat style,Not a street fighter, not a chopper or bobber,
and I am thinking what it really is,
The frame has 36º rake, not too radical at all. The same rake as H-D V-rod or
Suzuki 1400 Intruder (the real one). More rake than a Bobber but less rake than a Chopper.
The frame is streched 4 inches.
Today was the third day of the dismantle of the Cafe style bike.
You can see the mess. Very sad in a way.
The frame did not get a single scratch.
I just lifted the frame right off of the engine which was laying on a heavy sleeping bag.
The frame is laying on my new welding leather jacket to protect the frame.
On a Roadstar Adventure.
