This is my new project. I'm going to bob it.... SO any advice, where to start.. things to look for.. comon issues... It's a 74. CB750. K..... It's not running yet,, the guy said it ran (rough) when he parked it for a couple years,, all in all it looks like it's in good shape..
I'm curious, where I can get one of those gauges...that you sync the carbs with..
Anyway, I'm Mike, and I live up in PGH...

So i hope I can get some good tips from people on here that know whats up. I like the bike and can't wait to get her going.

The fuse blocks were junk to start with, and after 30+ years every thing else is corroding, and making things worse. the bike in the picture has a TC Bros hardtail section, but I myself like the Cycle one hardtail better. It also has Cycle exchange pipes, a trailer fender with a model A taillight, and a 16 inch rear tire. tasclassicmotorsports.com has the rim, and spokes, for $96.00. Hope this helps.

thanks man.. yes the wiring, is actually terrifying to look at.... I'm not looking forward to that part at all.. I'm having trouble disassembling the rear hub.. is there anything I should know? the drum inside is locked up.. man did it suck trying to move the heavy sum bitch..

I got a nice set of gauges from Vintagecb750 but they are over $100 and you need them for about 15 minutes.  Where do you mean by PGH?  If you mean Pittsburgh, you can borrow mine

And a rubber mallet!
I would guess all his grease is solidified, what is left of it.
I would counsel putting a fork brace on the front. These bikes do not have to stiffest front ends.
If you want, you can drill the rivets on the front fender and use that brace.
Another option, depending on skill level, would be to "kong" your frame.
There are a couple links floating around here or you can google cb750 kong and you should find it.
It basically allows you to drop the seat while still keeping the rear suspension. It is pretty cool but requires frame hacking of course.

Still in the Manuals on here it doesn't show how the rear hub comes apart... should it just slide out easy? cus mine is stuck, I don't want to break anything. ANy thoughts.?

I FI CAN GET THE CHROME THING AT THE OTHER END OF THE AXLE OFF IT SEEMS LIKE IT WOULD SLIDE THROUGH.

Shove the break backing plate back on. Then clean the axle with a wire wheel/wire brush. It should slide right off. Konging the frame is cool, but I have seen them bend where the tubes are relocated. Cycle one has been working on a kit, for konging a frame. They are trying to solve this problem.

   I thought it looked a little weak after what was cut out,really like the look,my niehbor is a frame weilder ,besides scrap bikes n a bar owmer,having him look it over ,will have to look into Cycle1 info,.......CAN that one end peace be heated and then just taped off with hammer ?I'm not sure what it is your going to need new guts any how ,shoulded hurt if just a spacer.?

Isnt that the axle adjuster you tighten the drive chain with?? The piece hanging you up?   I would think that has to be removable     I think that looks like a dust cap     have you try prying (gently) it off to see if there is an axle nut under that chrome cap?    Just my 2 cents   probably way over priced

I looked at the manual   i believe that cap stays on    that is the end of the axle    LOOKS LIKE IT     I THINK      NOT FOR SURE    according to the pic i saw youre on the right path        wish i could help more

I'm a bit confused about your rear wheel problem. If you cannot remove the axle, how did you get the wheel out of the frame?  That is not a dust cover, it's the end of the axle.
