That's nice Piute! Good to see, you should really take pics of every piece you finish now that digital albums are so easy to make. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent work! I don't have the drawing/painting talent, but I'm good at math and music and making stuff work. Black arts, all 3 of them

Black art is knowing how a points condenser works...not just knowing what it does.

Do you want the electrically technical explanation, or just chalk it up to "magic stuff inside that little can"?

Actually the condensor is also called a capacitor.  It has the property of resisting changes in voltages by either absorbing or dissipating them within its plates.  Take one apart, and you'll see twin metal strips separated by an insulating medium.  It works only on DC voltage.

Inductors (also known as chokes or transformers or ballast coils) do the same thing but they work on current instead of voltage. It does this by expanding or contracting the magnetic field generated by the coils/wires inside it.  It works only on AC voltage.

I guess I _did_ remember something from community college in the 70s. :-)

Re: condensers-We know what they do and what they look like on the inside, but somewhere in history someone figured out how to make one, what it needed to do what and how to pull it off. Sometimes I wonder if all the smart people are gone.

Hey, Piute, if you've got hi res pics taken in a properly set up studio of these, you can go online and get giclees, or canvas prints made and sell some more! But you likely know that already! :) Keep them coming if you find any more!  These are great! :)

Were taking a few hundred bucks.highest was 700 ,1 nice bigg 1 got stolen dental office had it insured and paid me.with-out asking how much.
