Shultz, I really hate to hear that, but I'm glad to hear nobody was hurt. But that is scary.
I don't know your area ( and this may not be the best advice
) but around here people pretty much know not to mess around on our property. There have been ''instances'' that have happened in the past that have people a tad leery of wandering around up here. Sometimes having the reputation of the neighborhood crazy guy pans out. Just a thought...
Be safe buddy. And be smart.
This is what sleeps beside me on the night stand.
Full of these.
"The Hornady Critical Defense 2 ½-inch .410 Triple Threat shotshell contains a mixed payload, unlike the buckshot loads that are loaded with three, four or five lead balls of the same diameter. The first projectile in the Hornady shell is a .41-caliber 115-grain FTX lead slug. The un-jacketed slug's hollow-point nose is filled with a red polymer plug, just like the copper jacketed FTX bullets used in the standard pistol-caliber cartridges of the Critical Defense line. The slug is followed by two .35-caliber lead balls weighing in at 65 grains each, which means they are slightly smaller and lighter than 000 buckshot pellets. This makes for a total of 245-grains of lead to throw downrange, which is about 15-grains more than a standard .45 ACP FMJ bullet at a published velocity of 750 feet-per-second (fps). "
I know this is not for everyone, and I don't mean to offend anyone, but walking around with this thing poking out of your belt makes people notice. Most people in this area know me and my family and know we are here to help out and be good neighbors. Just this Sunday Crys and I helped pull a girl's car out of the ditch. It wasn't an easy one to pull out without possibly causing more damage to her car, so it took about an hour and a half to get her going again. We are not the crazy gun people, but you also don't find people straggling up the driveway for no reason either. The ones that need to know...know. If that doesn't make sense to you than just don't worry about it.
