It's only illegal if you get caught.

If at first you don't succeed, use more lighter fluid

95% of Harley Davidsons ever made are still on the road... The other 5% made it home.

Didn't this guy know about eBay?

I went to change the shifter oil seal on the Vulcan last night. I already knew the shifter had been repaired (the bike went down on its left side at some point), but check out how the previous owner fixed this shifter:
Socket
Instead of just getting a new or used part, he modified an old socket to fit the shaft, drilled and tapped a set screw, and welded what was left of the shifter to the socket.

I guess I'll give him credit for making it work, maybe it got wrecked back in '89 before eBay motors was so prevalent.

Anyway, he ground down the splines on the shaft so I couldn't install a replacement shifter without taking the engine out and installing a new shaft (you have to pull the engine to remove the cover).

This post was updated on .
Would not had been a bad fix if he had not ground off the splines. I have seen a lot of bikes with the shift lever welded to the shaft. At least the engine is not hard to remove. The trick is to remove the clutch rod before removing the drive unit. There is a little slotted cover over the clutch rod that can be unscrewed to remove it.

I just had a huge bombshell dropped on me concerning my gf's financial situation. To the tune of about $60K.

Why? Woman, why? You make double what I do?

I feel sick. I swear being single is so appealing... I don't even know what to do right now. I honestly want to throw up.

My business communication professor gave my class some of the best advice I ever heard "before getting married, show each other your credit reports!" I did not realize it, but when you get married you take on your spouses financial responsibility.
