Did the tubes have any reinforcement? If not see if you can find some with a metal spiral in the rubber, it would probably cut down on the flexing.
It's only illegal if you get caught.
If at first you don't succeed, use more lighter fluid

Are the tubes expanding, or contracting during these pulses?

Both. When you rev the bike it starts to collapse, then when you let off it bellows open. No big deal, just flimsy hoses. Nothing really worth fiddling with IMO, just giving a heads up to anyone that may be watching the thread. Who would have thought a few inches of mercury on a water column would be so strong? lol.
But, as the pic shows, screw hoses. Im going for legitimate boots. Details when the parts come in. :)

I've used hose like that in the past. For it's intended purpose, of course. That would probably be perfect, actually. If you could buy it in 3" long sections with only 1.5" of spiral in the middle, leaving you somewhere to clamp.

Rub it in, Hambone. Rub it in. lol
I tried some PVC inserts, but never really had any luck getting things to fit together for me. But I usually tend to overcomplicate things. :)

"Harley issues" ? What kind of issues could you have just bolting pieces of chrome onto a bike? TOOLS

Hambone, I've got adblocker which (for some reason) erases all sigs on this site. But on my phone earlier I saw you have a XLH. I've got an old Sportster I don't mind parting out. If you are looking for any parts give me a shout.
And getting off course is fine. There's no rules!
|
|
no rules and parts !! what a combo thank you for the offer...I would be interested in the rear rim and seat if still available...pm me if you like w price and details ...hopefully tools doesn't see this but all nuts and bolts are welcome.they seem to rattle loose or fall into a black hole in the garage believe it or not "shaky" is pretty reliable....yesterday I finally completed an 80 f ,all black original everything..a friend took it for a ride and was shocked how fast comfortable plush it was...these bike always amaze me and put a smile on my face..

The seat I have isn't stock and the rims on my bike are aluminum. I'll snap a couple pics and pm them to you.
If these bikes amaze you now try riding one with a set of cartridge forks up front! The difference cartridges make is amazing.

Edit: Hambone, they are the stock flanged aluminum spoke rims. Just to be clear.
