My brother owns a coffee shop.  He has facebook stuff and live music occassionally.  People hang out there at all hours of the day and night.  I can't believe how much money they spend on caramel monkeyockies, or whatever they call those flavored expresso drinks.  He has some customers that spend over 300 per month in there.

As far as I'm concerned, it's just dirty brown water. I can't understand why people will become addicted to it to the point of spending that kind of money on it.

Believe it or not the McDonalds coffee was best. $.55 is all.
StarBucks was very bitter. Worst.
Gas station is ok too.

There is a little convenience store a couple miles from my house I go to occasionally and one day I bought a coffee there and I left without remembering to put in my usual sugar and cream and so I drank it black. It was very good ! and not bitter. I was very surprised.
The next time I went in that store I asked the owner about the coffee and she said her father taught her all about coffee and she said she knows how to make the coffee taste good black.
Now I have to go back and ask her the secret.

I hate bitter coffee.

That's the name of my bros place.  Red Eye Express.  Never had anything but the dark drip my self.  Too strong, but I guess it's what they pay for.

All I know is, this place is out of hot chocolate.

I hate coffee and tea. But whiskey sure does warm the spirit. And the idiot in me.

Many times I will get a 1/2 coffee and 1/2 Hot chocolate at the gas station.
They call that a house mocha. Very good.

Re: The price of coffee

Hoosier Daddy
True story...
When I turned 40 I went to the butt doctor to get some assteroids looked at. (you know what I mean)
He said too much caffine can cause those, and asked if I drank a lot of coffee.
I said "Depends on what you consider a lot."
HE asked "Well, how many cups do you have a day?"
"How many are in a pot?" I asked "10 - 12?"
"... that's about right." he replied.
"Hmmm... about 30 - 40 I guess." I said casually.

He got all excited, saying "You can't possibly drink that much!"
I explained, "I have a pot before work ,then once I get there we have free coffee so I probably drink another 2 pots there... But just 'til noon, then I switch to Mountian Dew."

He about fell off his stool!!
