Hard to leave the power on when the bike is in a hundred pieces scattered around the living room, and kitchen. Also discovered the the timing advancer had froze up. Some sort of corrosion happened to both it, and the points.

The Purpose of the Guardian® Bell
Many of us have heard the story about Evil Road Spirits. They are little gremlins that live on your bike. They love to ride, and they’re also responsible for most of your bike’s problems. Sometimes your turn signals refuse to work; your battery goes dead, the clutch needs adjustment, or any of several hundred things that can go wrong. These problems are caused by Evil Road Spirits.

Evil Road Spirits can’t live in the presence of the bell, because they get trapped in the hollow of the bell. Among other things, their hearing is supersensitive, so the constant ringing of the bell and the confined space drives them insane. They lose their grip and eventually fall to the roadway. Have you ever wondered how potholes are formed? The bell has served its purpose.

If you pick up a Guardian® Bell of your own, the magic will work, but if your bell is given to you, the power is doubled, and you know that somewhere you have a special friend helping to look after you.

So, if you have a friend who doesn’t have a bell, why not give them one? It’s a nice feeling for the recipient to know you care. The bell, plus a good preventive maintenance program by the bikes owner, will help eliminate Evil Road Spirits

I have heard of the bells, but I carry my late best friends (Cindy Puppy AKA Dirty Dog) dog tag with me. If a gremlin trys to jump on, she will chase it away, just like she did squirrels in the yard.

That one is the 13". I have a 9" I am using on Mortal Vindication. It looks a lot more streamlined. If, you are not sure which one to use, Just cut out some similar sized pieces of cardboard, to use as templates.

Is that the OEM rear fender? All Chrome huh?
Fiona only has a half chrome rear, but I'm sure I can fabricate using her original front fender that I replaced.

Yea that is the original fender. Your fender should come down far enough to use a tombstone taillight.

Did you wash the bike before you started working on it? biggest mistake I made, ha, chased all over why the bike wasn't starting on my '81 cb750 and finally took the ignition cover off only to find foam caused by the water mixing with the oil. Sprayed some electronic contact cleaner in there and fired right up

Well that solves the case then, the guy down at my local bike shop told me that was my first mistake, you never wash your bike he says

Tools I need a favor

Do you happen to have close up pictures you can email me of the fabricated seat mounts on Toolbabe's bobber as well as pix of the underside of the seat. The pix on this thread are too small.

Need to see what the best way to mock up a 13" long by 9"wide solo seat with 2 rear springs and a pass thru bolt up front on Fiona

Took Toolbabe's bobber to it's first judged show today, and it won first place in it's class. Now it's going to her head, and she is getting harder to live with.

It's a 79 CM 185 Twinstar. Stock it is one of the ugliest bikes ever built. The CM 200 with the 12V electrical system is a little better, but I picked this bike up really cheap, and it had a title. This is what it would have looked like new.

My buddy had the exact same bike, I thought it was awsome!  Fun little bike, he had 3 scooters and the 125, I always got the 125  Good lil bike for bar hoppin at the beach.
