Looked in again this evening and your still on the move. You burned up a lot of blacktop today! Your trip and being able to track your progress is making this lousy snow a little easier to take.
|

I just left snow and cold behind. Went to the balmy 37 deg. Missouri then left because of some Damn blizzard. Bastard.
Now I am holed up in some place called Blytheville Arkansas because of that blizzard. Piute, save me!

Turbos, Hondas, 4-bangers, what could go wrong?

Piute-
Just tried giving you a call. Call me sometime tonight so we can to figure out a plan for getting a ride in together.

weather report 10hrs ago
Meanwhile, a blizzard watch was posted for parts of Indiana and western Kentucky for storms expected to unfold Tuesday amid predictions of up to 4 to 7 inches of snow in coming hours. Much of Oklahoma and Arkansas braced under a winter storm warning of an early mix of rain and sleet forecast to eventually turn to snow.
Some mountainous areas of Arkansas' Ozark Mountains could get up to 10 inches of snow, which would make travel "very hazardous or impossible" in the northern tier of the state from near whiteout conditions, the National Weather Service said.
Here(north Plato of the Ozarks) Springfield,Mo.(put that on yo weather) look how it just missed us but snow covers clear to the bigg Miss.
Smart going So far south as you did,BUT could of came over the top just below St Louie, thats only an inch at most and will be melted come noon tomarrow,
Lots of bad shit out there tonight Thank God your safe and in side. I know your # is in this putter somewere's.

Hey, you're not moving just because of a little blizzard? What's up with that? Believe it or not we got a foot and a half of snow here the other day and people were riding their bicycles to work . . . and complaining about cars on the road / drivers not being considerate of them [roads and sidewalks not cleared so bikes were in the one lane of traffic slowing things down/grining things to a halt and blaming the DRIVERS!]

My grandma would kill me if I rode in this. Not the snow.
Hotel lost power around 1, 2 am so I don't know what I am going to do lol. I might go to Priceline and see if I can Name Your Own Price a $20 room. We will see. Otherwise I am going to get on I 55 and go south until I get past Memphis. Weather map appears they didn't get really any snow past that. So 100 miles on highway and I will be out of this shit.
In other news, last tank got 52 mpg. I am wondering if I fudged the mileage since that is astronomically high. Right before that I got 40.8 iirc.
If the power doesn't come on soon, I know that I will be sad since I can't shower without light. And the hot water may not be so hot, depending how many people have taken showers per the proprietor.

I wasn't moving initially because it was 9 pm, 10 EST when I left. I have an iron butt but my body still gets exhausted. My shoulders are still stiff, too...

to be honest I think that you are simply amazing to evn contemplate this journey -- most of my remarks should be taken as sarcastic wonder. I'm thinking a six hour day will be as much as I can take -- I thought you'd pulled in for the night twice but then you kept going!
I wouldn't begin to hink of riding in snwo -- then again, I parked my bike when it started to get cold, lt alone that white stuff on the gound.
I hope you escape to warmer climes today.

I am not thrilled about riding in the snow, to be honest. But I have to get away from this hotel. I am already getting antsy, and I don't want to pay another $50 to sit here going 'derr, what do I do now..." as well as not see more of this land at the low price of $3.00 for 40 miles.
And the elusive warm weather beckons, though I doubt I will get to it. Florida is just too Damn far now. Should have went there first. :/

I must be getting more sick of this cold weather. I am at a McDonald's and I hate this place. And I cannot wait to camp. May go camp earlier than planned.
Is it a bad sign when a local asks where you're headed, you show him, and he goes 'where the hell is that? I have lived here my whole life, I'm 70, and never heard of that place..."
What about if its a National Park?
