I replace the stock throttle return spring with a very light one from the hardware store. Can ride, for hours without getting cramped.

I doubt it. You'll def have to sync them. And if they come with jets at all they're probably what would work on someone elses bike. And while we're on the subject, I have lately taken to just throwing my throttle springs away all together.

I emailed them today and got a reply saying that they would be a great choice for my bike and would work perfectly on my basically stock set up. They also went on to say it would give a bump in performance.

I am also thinking about those CR29's. I read good things about them. but also read these are not really a bolt on carb. Need some fine tunning. But once tunned, they are great.
If I get a set of those, I want to make sure I will enjoy them. SInce I am not an expert in carburetion, I think I will have some carb guru set it up. I can mount them in place, but the jetting and such ( in my case ) is something I would rather have some guy with experience take care of.
No sense in investing all that money only to have my CR's run like the dogs . Check around for prices though, I have noticed some places have them a little lower ( pricewise ). Sudco is a great place, but other places have them for less.

Haven't been on in a while but still been checking things. I plan to really start on mods soon. I want to get rid of the huge turn signals on the front and rear. Looking at the front end how are people swapping them out. They bolt to the "triple tree"??What is everyone else doing for this. I want to install some led ones.

I stuck mine on the sides of my head light.   Fit right in. If you go led make sure you get a decent set and make sure they're bright. You also might need to get an electronic flasher if they don't pull enough power to make the stock one flash.

Yeah. I see how they bolt on stock. I could just unbolt them and cut and grind ground the tab they bolt too.

Next question. Lately I've been damn near over revving the bike. Any one know where to tap into the harness for a tach signal? and anywhere to buy a shift light that's not to expensive and very bright??

I doubt you're lover reving it.  These bikes love the rpms.   They red line at 10k.

If you want to add a tach back in they're a mechanical tach, not electronic. There is a hole in the valve cover where it plugs in. Just make sure you get the right gear ratio tach.

DYNA sells a kit to run a shift light. I think they also sell electronic tachs also, but I'm not positive. IIRC they are Autometer brand units. It's been a while since I looked into it,so i can't say for sure. You could also go with a Koso,Trailtech or other similar aftermarket electronic tach. But to be honest (and I love my Trailtech Vapor) the Trailtech's are notorious for the tach function being pretty dodgy. I've yet to get mine to work right after about a year.

Do they just splice into the coil or sense the Em field from the current going to the spark?

Just curious how they work.

I'm not sure about the other models, but the Vapor has instructions for both. Inductive around the high tension wire or spliced into the coil.

Fist attempt I spliced into the coil. The tach was way off and super erratic. Second attempt I tried the inductive install. Same thing. So I called Vapor and they told me to tap the wire directly into the high tension wire. Yeah, just screw the boot off and run it back down with that wire in there. I did that and it wouldn't let that plug fire! So i called Vapor back and asked about it and they told me to run a resistor in there. When I asked what ohm rating to use they didn't have a clue. Like I said, they are not known for having good tachs. All depends on the bike,I suppose.

I am constantly at 10g every time I ride.

Could you just use a shift like for a vehicle. They do sell them for not to bad of a price and work on 4cyl engines. I might just try it since I have a digital tach w/ shift light out since my trucks interior is pulled apart. Where is the tach signal wire at??

Good question. I don't know if it would work on a DOHC or not. The SOHC bikes are wasted spark systems-fires on both the intake and exhaust stroke. Using a standard auto tach in 4 cyl mode designed for a standard ignition system would pickup the extra firing of the exhaust stroke and cause the tach or shift light to read exactly double of the true rpm. If the DOHC is not a wasted spark system a 4 cyl tach would work just fine.

DOHC is a wasted spark system as well.

Lots of tach's available on ebay.  Heck I might have a spare from a 900, I'll have to check when I get home.

You could also post on the buy/sell section of this forum and someone should be able to help.

Those really are nice looking pipes. Do you have any plans for rearsets...ever? lol  The reason I ask is from the looks of that pic those pipes would be definite ankle burners with rearsets. I really like them ,though. And not a bad price IMO. As long as the shipping isn't terrible.

Don't plan on it. I plan to just get the bare steel pipe and wrap it. Possible might cut off the baffle end and throw on this.

http://www.dimecitycycles.com/vintage-cafe-racer-caferacer-bobber-brat-chopper-custom-motorcycle-exhaust-parts-stainless-steel-reverse-cone-shorty-motorcycle-muffler-80-2500.html

Not 100% sure. Going wait to see how it sounds before I purchase. Once I get my $600 back from the bank for identity theft i'm ordering the exhaust, try-y headlight, an engine breather for when I get those carbs, and l.e.d turn signals and possible the handlebars.

After that comes the big purchase for the carbs, new boots, and filters.

I have new pads and fork seals already one there way. Nothing will go on until I finish up my trucks wiring then i'm starting at the front end and repainting and polishing everything.

Kinda debating if I want to put on a oil pressure gauge and cooler using braided SS lines and AN fittings. Still not sure though.

Kinda going for a café/racer kinda feel.( not even sure if that's what you want to call it)
