Those would both be "K-0s" but not sandcast. They are diecast, but still worth quite a bit of $$$$.

As Tools said, not sandcast. Sandcast was only in 69 and only for part of it. Late 69 was diecast.

That engine should be a "Sandcast" but the frame is for a later K-O Diecast.
Question, do you have these bikes, or know where they are, and laid eyes on them?

I have the first two and I am looking to buy the 3rd one. Yes I've looked at it.  So this engine was put into the frame of another bike? No possible way its a matching bike?

I would say it is highly unlikely that the engine is original to the frame. How about some pictures of your bikes? It's not often you see K-Os. I have an early diecast engine, but doubt I would ever find a frame with a close enough serial No# to do a restore, so I am hoping to find a hardtail chopper frame from the early 70s to put it in. Oh, I even have the early round (no fins) oil filter housing for my engine.

interesting!
I am working on what I believe to be a 1980 750C however my Frame number is #RC012200599. I cannot locate an engine number separate and the VIN number is listed on the Title as stated above. Did you solve your original mystery? and can direct me to where I can decode this VIN? I cannot seems to get any match from my online search and thus starting to believe this was never shipped to the US.

Cheers

Re: vin number decode

Baz, according to my info this frame number relates to a US CB750C 1980. Engine number should be in range RC01E-2109040 to 2136728.
1980 CB750F S/S
1979 CB750F

Re: vin number decode

Baz
Eric, you are a star mate.
With a little elbow grease and a piece of scotch brite I was able to scrub off the oxidation of the engine and with the info you provided I can now confirm my engine # is RC01E-2114001. I will take it to be Custom and not K model.

Thanks again
