I have no idea why he did what he did. I do have some disturbing pictures of the mess I will post soon though. I did mention to him how F@#$%^ up it was, and that if he had just came to me, and asked, for help with it, I would have been happy to help him. However other then wanting the room back in my garage I'm in no hurry to fix it.
You still have not figured out the plug. It is, so you can watch the transmission parts while assembling the two case halves. This way you can tell that they are lining up correctly. I think.

You think?! LOL   Well we're in the same boat then! If that's what it is for looks like they'd used a bolt on plate instead. But I suppose that would have just been waaaay to simple!

Thanks man. Not on yet. Waiting on spokes. Then those will be PC'ed. But I want to get the rotor adapters squared away before I lace up the front. Less chance of scratching the rim with all the test fits. It'll be awhile probably. But the rear will get laced ASAP!

Bummer. I was hoping for working-on-a-motorcycle fix since it's been so long, but no luck.I did a dry run with these rims and some old stock spokes and the spoke length was spot on. So I ordered some stock replacements frpm vontagecb750.com and they dont fit! On the front rims the threads on the spokes run up flush to the skirt on the nipple, but not inside. Is that OK,or does it need more thread engaged to be safe? On the rear the spokes are way short. I have about 4 threads showing outside of the nipples. There's probably only 1/4-5/16'' of threads engaged there. Sucks! I don't know what changed or if I just got shafted buying cheapie spokes. They look like really nice quality pieces, they just dont fit. Killed my buzz for sure.

So I've been talking with vintagecb750.com about the spoke length issue. They dont care. When I mentioned that they do not compare in length to the factory installed spokes they just blow it off saying "I must not be lining them up correctly". What does that even mean???? Whatever... $75 down the tubes.

You might be trying to install the spokes in an incorrect pattern. Very easy to do.

easyrider12
hey shiney,  sad to see this.  I was about to order up $150 worth of parts from these guys, (from canada free shipping... but not sure) i think piute mentioned something about a problem with these guys.   they only have two diff. sets of handlebars to choose from.. maybe i will wait to see ho this plays out.  You are one of the most easy/approchable guys on here, think you would get the same???   but i can see spokes being a pain in the A#$ haha   good luck
most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handelbars to the saddle.

Sorry to hear about you luck Shiney.   I have only placed one order with them, and it worked out for me. Also for what it's worth, I think vintagecb750 = partsnmore based on there website designer, product listing and what is in and out of stock on their respective sites.

Ooooooh I hate a LIAR!!!!!!

I opened a paypal dispute. Then I got this.

VintageCB750:

I see you have now filed a paypal complaint. Why is this, I have offered you a full refund if you can send these back to us. We have literally sold over 500 sets of
these for the original OEM type rims and they are correct for the model years listed on our website. If you check the OEM numbers the Supersport rears are different from the
K models.

Anyway, What would you like done to solve this?

Thanks

VintageCB750

ME:

Hello, no one had ever offered a refund or anything of the sort. I have all of the emails in my account still. I repeatedly brought up that I would like to come to some sort of agreement, but no offers were ever made.A refund would be greatly appreciated         -Eric

I felt stupid bickering over $65 ,but once they bring up (in a message that Paypal can now see) that I have been offered a refund...well,I consider that lying and only trying to work with a customer when their tail is under the rail. I don't like that.
