I have found threatening with the better business beuro works quite well when businesses are jerking you around. Sounds like false advertisement issue so I would make mention of it to them, don't take crap from them.

Me too,Hoosier. But it's only the refund issue that is strange. Here's what they just sent me. It's beginning to get comical at this point.

Ahhh, they sent return instructions! OK,let's go see what those instructions are.....

"Please see instructions below" Below where? Are they under my laptop.....nope,didn't see any there.Where are they Vintage?Smooth. For entertainment purposes alone, this is nearly worth the $65 lol

Hellbilly,Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think very highly of the BBB. They way they work, anyone can call in anything without any proof whatsoever. If you remedy the situation to the satisfaction of those who complain you still have a tarnished reputation when people check your rep with them .The ONLY way they will clear any complaints off of your file is if you pay them. They are nothing but @*)#&&%$ crooks!

In the interest of brevity,a lady(I use that term oh,so loosely) called me one day that her AC was froze up. I asked if she had checked her air filter(90% chance thats the problem),I waited on the phone til she returned and told me it was completely blocked. I told her how to thaw out her unit,to change in a clean filter and call me back if it did not fix the issue. I was TRYING to save her a service charge. She told me that the unit was still under warranty(and it was) and that I should come out and fix it. I explained that warranty does not cover standard maintenance and that I would have to charge her.She insisted I come fix it.I told her I would have to charge her for hourly driving time(over 30 miles away)and however it would take to thaw the unit so I could check it properly under normal operating temps. She agreed. I drove out there, thawed it,put in a new filter, checked the system out...all was good. Then I gave her a bill for a $2.50 air filter and 5 hours labor(it was actually closer to 6).She f r e a k e d out. I left and didnt even worry about collecting on the bill.I just wanted to get away from her. So,she calls the BBB,lodges a complaint blahblahblah. I attepted to tell my side of the story to the BBB but it was obvious they were not there to listen. $1,800 is what they wanted me to pay to remove that mark from my record. Not gonna happen...ever. They even offer yearly coverage against complaints!LOL.You pay a yearly fee ( used to be $2,500/year) and if anyone complains it doesn't go on your rep. Complete and utter BS! They call it being ''Accredited" .So I called back several weeks later and  told the BBB that I wanted to lodge a complaint against a company that had smeared my companys name and they were all too happy to take my complaint and were VERY sympathetic with me and promised me that would do all in their power to help me fight this...until I told them I was lodging the complaint against them. Funny thing, that paper work never came in the mail...musta got lost???  Sorry,i s'pose brevity is not my thing.oops.Anyway,screw the BBB. I hope with all my might that they bankrupt... painfully.

Anyway...Piute,dude! I remember when you got those gaitors. That hasn't been very long at all! Sheesh.Thats bad dude.

That sounds like something I would do.... funny shit right there.

So are you going to take vintagecb750 up on their offer to refund? Or just chalk it up to lesson learned? Hope it all works out for the best.

I got the lathe all back together tonight. I'm chomping at the bit to make the hub adapters, but first I'm gonna go back and de-rig some things.

Tonights job was to make actual spacers to make the s-arm fit the frame instead of the double stacked washers I had in there.

Spacers look so mich better than the washers on the right. So glad I did this

Next I need to get my rear wheel bearings in so I can sort out the wheel spacers on the rear axle. It's rockin' some washers and double stacked spacers, too. They gotta go...

If anyone was wondering I figured I would just delete all my bellyaching about the spoke issues. The forum doesn't need that on here

Anyway, small update on this bike today. But a big one for my wallet. Turns out that matic I picked up had pristine bearings in the bottom end. The bearings out of this motor were badly acid etched. I was looking at ~$300 for new bearings. I plastigaged the bearings out of the matic in the engine today and they were spot on! Specs call for 0.0008''-0.0018'' with a service limit of 0.0032'' for both the rods and mains. My mains came in at 0.0013'' and my rods are at 0.0016''. Golden! So I went ahead and ordered a new HD cam chain and studs. I should be able to assemble the bottom end and get it in the chassis. Once that's in there I can get alot done on this bike that doesn't require spending money

My super small update: I torqued the rods...whoopty-doo!

Hmmm.I hit a snag. I laced up the front rim (stock spokes off the water buffalo fit beautifullyjust sayin'...)and was gonna measure to make some wheels spacers. But the spokes are hitting the calipers I suppose I'll see how much meat is on the calipers.Hopefully i can shave them down. Trying to figure out how much clearance I should have here. Ya think 5mm would be enough?

Cleaning the bike is always fun. But it kinda makes it hard to get it dirty again. Kinda....

My timing chain arrived (oh,need to run the tab....)so I was able to put the bottom end together.

I'm considering installing the motor in the bike tomorrow as it is now. It's manageable by myself at this point and would definitely be easy to get it in the frame without scratching things up. I wonder if I'll regret it when it come time to install the jugs, though. The head I'm not worried about doing in the frame, but I'm afraid the jugs might be a but clumsy that way.Anywho, pics!

All put away.Nice and safe
