If it ain't broke don't fix it!   isn't that what they said,  I went back to page 1 for some good reading material at 3 in the morning but my eyes are starting to give up on me.   The bike is really coming together, many neat ideas, looking forward to what comes next.  Maybe you could do something different with starter button placement (idk  my 2 cents worth).  either way an honorary engineering diploma is in the works if you dont have one already.  signing off-
most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handelbars to the saddle.

This post was updated on .
7:30 means i slept in. Clock goes off at 7.

I think I'm just gonna put the switch in the headlight bucket. If I ever get one

No real updates to report. Just trying to keep track of the tab. I needed new cables for the chop so ordered some for this bike too. Saved a little on shipping this way. I never really liked the look of the tail light so I swapped it out for one that matches the tail better. I'm gonna count it as a wash and not add it to the tab since it was the same money and the Water Buffalo has been needing a better lite setup anywayOh,and picked up a key switch at Tractor Supply

Wider than the other light and flat across the top. Fits much better!

Big honkin' ugly sucker! But it was cheap, rated for 20 amps and came with many extra keys!

Battery holder V2.0. Slimmer, lighter and doesn't peak out past the side panels. Also should act as a bit of a gravel shield for the battery.

I was happy to finally get all the odds and ends sorted out. No more fab work needed on the frame so I pulled the engine and started finish welding the frame up getting it ready for powder. I quickly ran out of wire. Poo.

Random pic cuz it felt right

Current tab            $770
throttle cables           30
key sw.                      8
---------------------------
new tab                  $808

Cylinder studs are out! Looks like a small detail, but it was quite the job. All of the case bolts came out easy except for two. They snapped but I was able to get then out tonight. One exhaust studs snapped also. Never would cooperate so it'll need a helicoil. I hate helicoils and the thought that this bike will have one. Everything was supposed to be new and perfect! Oh well

Going over to Chunky's to do a bunch of powdercoating tomorrow( the perks of being out of work?) and if I get lucky I can finish blasting and cleaning the cases and get those done too! Gotta move fast in the AM

I needed one of those yesterday! Trying to get those durn studs out!

Getting a little bit closer everyday. Small load of parts to be pc'ed today, but it felt good to get the pipes done. For some reason it just sorta gave me a sense of progress.I had forgotten how smooth this hi-temp powder lays. The other stuff we used to get was real grainy. I kinda regret not finishing these pipes a little smoother now. I was planning wrap these black but now I might just sport some silver pipes.

I had cleaned and degassed (preheated) all the aluminum parts and was fixing to spray them when Chunky decided it was a good idea to knock my rack overThe oil filter housing took a good hit and snapped an outer fin So I shaved it down to a 'finished' looking new shape and then cut the other side down to match. Looks OK,but I'm still bummed. Dont expect any closeups...

All the parts that have been coated get wrapped up and boxed away patiently awaiting final assembly. Hard to believe there's well over half of a motorcycle in these two boxes! They're starting to get a lil heavy.

The Finished pile

I wonted the pipes Flt.Blk. but that silver will do.
