That just means the site doesn't list it as stolen. A good first sign, but not guaranteed. I'd call the cops to verify the clean result, but if it was stolen 198(6?) or later then it should be on that site. I think.
Turbos, Hondas, 4-bangers, what could go wrong?

Kind what I was thinking, too. Great minds think alike... Now,back to a legit bike

Hackjob Update:

I replaced the stack-o-washers I was using for s-arm spacers for proper stainless pieces.

Yay! They fit!

Then I put the bottom end back in the frame to redo the rear axle spacers. It's a stack-o-washers back there, too. Waiting on a front sprocket to show up so I can get some spot-on measurements on this.

Discovered that 1996-2002 Ducati 750 Monster's use the same bolt pattern as the front hub of a CB750,so I'm on the hunt for a pair of those-cheap!-so I can finally get the front brakes sorted.

Also discovered that my mini-risers were never gonna be tall enough to clear the fork preload adjustments. So I went to Plan B. I picked up a pair of ProTapers (oh yeah) and risers from a guy on Customfighters for $40. Turns out, they weren't tall enough either.Poo. So on to Plan C,since Im too cheap to buy proper risers. Besides.the bars were too low and needed to come up some anyway. So all is good.

Had to weld up my old riser holes.

Made some risers for the new risers.

Which will eventually get welded/blended in to the top clamp. But the TIG ran outta gas

I'll be in northern VA in 2 weeks. If you like, I'll sell you the 900 frame I've got sitting around for $50 even.
Maybe you could use it -comes with a title, rear swingarm, and rear comstar.

Now that might be cool. Since the 900 engine had the two speed splitter on it the frame is longer. This
should make plenty of room for the Sportster engine.

I might just do that Half. I measured to see about putting the sporty engine on to Hackjob and it wouldn't go. The engine was too tall and too long. I dont remember the measurements, but if it measures out you got yourself a deal.

Do the 900's use the same tins as the 750's?

I sent you an email with a lot of measurement shots. Hopefully it will give you a good idea of the size and whether or not it would work.
Also, regarding you "tins" question.. Is that referring to the gas tank? It should take any dohc C or K model tank (it came with a "custom" tank and I've also fitted my K tank to it). I think the F's are slightly longer, but don't quote me on that..

Thanks for the pics bud. That's awesome. As far as the ''tins'' remark,I should've said body work I guess. I really dig the look of the DOHC F's body work. All of it. If I could hang this motor in an otherwise complete F model frame/bodywork that'd be fantastic. I'll be in touch on the frame. Thanks dooood

In other news....

Hackjob Update:

So I got me sprocket today. $20. Rechecked the chain run and it was good so I just duplicated the spacer/washer combo into a single spacer. So much happier with this.

Dang, that is an enormously huge hub assembly. Go old school!

Got the upper and lower clamps coated, along with the risers. Turned out nice-Chunky is da man!

Since the controls I had set up for this bike are now on the Water Buffalo I had to come with another set. After seeing this much satin black on the front end I think it needs something other than more satin black to break it up. Don't want it to look washed out. I think these will do the trick.

Should help retain a bit of the old look up top with so much new junk being up there.

Thanks Shultz. Boy am I glad you turned down these controls the other day I'm real happy I went this route. It needed a little color up top.

I killed another clutch perch tonight Thinking about looking into a hydraulic clutch conversion

Clutch perch gone and wires run through the bars. These bars are insanely thick. About 3/16'' !

LOL Hoosier. Its not a big deal actually. I've already got one method.completely figured out. Its just a little bulky. I'm doing some hunting for more compact parts, but it'll be so easy to adapt. Sounds flashy, but is pretty basic actually.
