Re: '81 CB750C "Rock-It"

Hoosier Daddy
Thanks!
Those pics are of the same rear wheel, just showing both sides. It was quite a bit of work but I am definately happy with the outcome. The front is about 50% complete.... need more beer.

Thanks guys, the front should go much quicker. Looks easier to run the buffer along the length of the longer spokes.

Piute, that is some funny stuff right there!

Thought I was done with the front wheel, but when I got down to the last buffing / polish I saw I had missed several spots at the outter lip crease, really stuck out once the rest was all shiney.
So now I need to go back over it along that edge with coarse sanding and strart working my way down again...

Nice thought, probably would have looked pretty good with a red stripe to match, but I already spend about 4 hours in the shop this afternoon!

Is using marvel mystery oil common for cleaning exhaust ports?  I have a lot of carbon build up that I'd like to clean when I pull my engine this winter.

I am sure there are better products to remove carbon. Easy-off oven cleaner for one does a good job.
Marvel mystery oil is good for a variety of things and I usually have it on hand.
This weekend I stripped the rear spocket carrier and brake plate then cleaned up the E-bay axle and spacers along with hardware. Then I was able to get the rear wheel mounted.
Next, once I decide to drill the front rotors or not, I'll get the front wheel mounted and have me a roller!

Todays "Bike" purchase, two hour round trip to Harbor Freight and now I got this.

Figured since I have 5 bikes and 4 more that aren't mine in the shop, I probably ought to pick one of these up. Then the Wifey said to just go get it as my Birthday and Christmas combination gift.
