I gotta stop spending money!!! Got these puppies of ebay for $31. Couldn't pass em up.

BTW,this bike is soooo sloooow! It's ok,it'll keep me outta trouble, but my 76 would tear this thing a new one!In a big way. Of course I imagine wheelies with 10 over tubes and 42 degrees probably would be a bad idea anyways.Poo. I like wheelies

They probably need a good oiling. Hard to tell when they got it last. Was planning on hanging them on the sissy bar. I like the narrow look of this bike and hate to mess that up with bags. These are pretty slim though. I'll still have to tie other stuff on for longer trips, but these should be good for everyday stuff.

One buddy told me to just pull a trailer. I told him "OK,Piute. Whatever you say!"

Of course,he didnt have a clue what I was talking about. "What did you call me?"   ''nevermind''

Yeah,they'll catch on eventually.

I hit the 500 mile mark on this bike today. All good, not a single hiccup! Love my Honda. Sat for 27 years and still runs like a brand new bike IMO. And I just love how smooth the engine are. I stopped by the bike shop today and ended up going to lunch with Eric and two of his friends. One of the guys is in the his 70's but he was telling me about a stock CB750 he had back in the mid 70's. On a whim after a girl,he rode that bike to California and back.Nonstop.Said he only stopped for food, gas or a room for the night. Cool.

I am waiting on float needles for the carbs so decided to just rob the carbs off WB for the time being. Bike runs 100% now! No creeping idle and no more dead spot off idle. But anything above 5-6000 rpm ( no tach-just guessing) and the bike is just DEAD! I mean,just-let-off-its-not-gonna-do-a-thing-deadThese carbs will run up to 10K just fine on the other bike,I know they are not leaning out on this bike. I love how these pipes sound and look, but I think they are hugely restrictive. Not happy, hope I'm wrong.

Are those mufflers welded on or slipped on? Is the baffle removable at all? Was thinking you could drill the baffle out to a larger diameter if you really think all it is is just a big washer.

Could always cut the mufflers off and change them out for some cherry bombs

Again with the cherry bombs?!?! JK

They are welded. Im not sure if the baffle will come out.I've been meaning to check it out with my borescope, just haven't made the time. I just poked around inside with a welding rod to get a feel for it. Kinda hard to get in there with how the turnout does. I got an old 4-1 pipe I got off Pat. I might just make some drags for it,but afraid it will be too loud on long trips.

I'm officially sissy-fied now! My $15 sissy bar.

My rear brake pedal clunks every now and then. The rear brake is super strong on this bike compared to the Water Buffalo, which is good since the front brake has the holding power of wet toilet paper. I have had the rear wheel off and everything is tight and like it should be. Pads look new, super thick. It'll do fine in town. After a long blast on the highway when you go to get on the rear brake it feels like the pedal kicks back against my foot. First time I felt it I immediately pulled over and checked the rear brake stay bar. It's fine and tight. Strange,I cant figure it out and I've had the wheel of three times now.

Do the drag pipes and fab up some snuff-or-nots, I am not sure if you can buy them anywhere anymore, but here is a video to explain what I mean.

Also could try (Hear Me Out!) glass pack inserts to tone down the drag pipes. Can get them here:

Pretty cool little pieces. I wonder if you could get the carbs to work good on both settings-opened and closed? Thanks bud.I'll definitely look into that. I finally got my petcocks in today. This tank sucks! The petcocks sit at a funky angle and it only allows a 18 oz difference between ON and RESERVE. Basically 1/2 a quart which is 1/8 of a gallon. So 40mpg divided by 8= 5 miles between On and RESI gotsa build me a tank.

At least they're purdy!

Yeah, but they can't stop me from trying!!! I got room for luggage-practical. I got room for a passenger, but not too many and they can't talk to me while I drive-veeery practical. Handles great at speed-practical. Smooth ride good enough to encourage long trips-practical. All I'm missing is added fuel range-doable

The original ones did not have the pin going through to the other side and they all fell off of the bikes.
They were first used for the Honda 250 - 305 scramblers.

They only lasted a week or two before they fell out.
They did get hot too. closing them was not the problem .it was opening them when they would be hot.

But it was not a problem, because any smart biker knows you should be wearing gloves at all times.

So if he did them heavy duty like that do you think they would still fall off?

I also thought about if you did the 2 pipes side parallel side by side on each side of the bike, and connected the pin going through the center of the washers and mounted and attached an electric motor to turn the pin, then you would be able to just hit a button to open and close the snuff-or-nots.
