I know man! Pat does good work! I wish I had that kind of imagination. You saw where he said I had to twist his arm to get these done. I gotta twist his other arm for those. Then I'll start twisting legs. One for the valve cover, another for the stator cover....I might run out of things to twist...

edit:wasnt trying to sound conceited, like " yeah,my levers are so cool". Pat gets the credit on these,fo sho.

You know I like some of the mirror designs (mirror only) but the mirror stem
part made out of that flat billet just looks so cheap.

If I got the mirrors i would have to get some better looking stems.

Then you would have something.

Haha, Im surprised nobody mentioned my massive mirrors yet. I hate 'em,but cant find anything to replace them with I actually like. Thinking about using some old peep mirrors like my Olds has. They got a cool old look to them, but they're so tiny.

Peep mirror photo op:

I rode the chopper tonight! Just a mile down the driveway and back. Feels sooo weird. Im used to leaning forward, hands down low on clubmans. But on this thing I'm all cocked back with my hands up like I'm a bug looking for a windshield! Kinda comfy, but def take some getting used to. Using the same 18-48 sprocket setup Im used to but a little shorter rear tire. The early tranny like on this bike are supposed to be geared lower ( far as I know) so I figured it would be nice and punchy, instead it feels like its in overdrive! I swear 1st gear seems like it wants to cruise at about 30 mph! Seriously, you let off the clutch and it just takes off. Almost impossible to pull away on gravel and not spin. Feels good.

You actually feel the plungers working, which is cool, but you can DEFINITELY tell there is no shock absorbing going on.Which is not cool. Once it bounces,it just keeps bouncing. Or maybe that just the forks jouncing? Either way I kinda dig it. Rides like a jacked up truck on 44 boggers. Doingdoingdoingdoing!!! I dig it.I'll probaly pee alot

Carbs are way off-runs like poo
Doesnt charge- but stator checked out ok and I got spare parts
starter doesnt like to engage all the time-but i got the good ol' sohc kicker
and the front brake sucks!   But the rear kicks butt.  Honda typical IMO

BUT, the pipes sound good, and the motor and clutch seem good and healthy and it WILL do a burnout

Long front end and a smoky back tire...all is well in Shinychoppa Land tonight

Got it boss, these are your mirrors

http://www.amazon.com/Kuryakyn-1450-Zombie-Mirror/dp/B000IOJ8RY/ref=pd_sim_sbs_auto_7

These would probably fit the chopper better, but ungodly expensive, actually seems like any mirrors worth a damn cost too much, lol.

Ouch.A buck twelve for mirrors is rough! I actually dig the zombie mirrors. I dont normally go for skulls, but they look alright. I tell ya what, you buy 'em,I'll run 'em Thanks for the links man. I know youre trying to fix my style.lol

I decided to take the bike down the road a bit just for s&g's. Man,I gotta tell ya,I can see the cafe being seriously neglected. I can u-turn tighter and easier with this bike and the ride is surprisingly smooth once you actually get on black top. This bike rides waaay smoother than my silver bike. It almost scares me to be honest. I imagine there will be a cafe for sale or getting cut.One or the other I'm afraid. Yet to do a full on highway test,so things may change.

Oh,I noticed the head lite brightens with rpms. When I checked it for charging output last night I cant remember it I run the motor up or not.Fingers crossed..tightly!

HB- no video til it's running right!!!! It sounds pretty nice at idle, but once you gas it it gets pretty Jappy still. There just ain't no hiding that 4 cyl sound. I dig it,though. Pretty loud! I didn't touch anything on the bike,I just noticed the head light brightened when I revved it. It's a new battery that really hasn't been properly charged. It reads 12.4 volts at rest and drops to 11.4 or so idling. Revving the bike it shows 12.4v again. It is charging, but not very much. At least I know my wiring must be right. need to do some more investigating.

Lucky, you are exactly right man. I never would thought this thing would ride good, let alone better than my stock suspension bike. And the seats on both bikes are equally thin and devoid of padding.lol. I'm pretty stoked about this thing. I feel so lucky right now,to be honest.

Haha! I promise Im going as fast as i can. I opened up the voltage regulator today and cleaned the points. They had some electrical corrosion on them, but not bad really. The bike DOES charge, just not very much, which has me confused. I could deal with a no-charge condition, but a weak charge condition has me scratching my head.   Also having a hard time getting the bike to idle right. It's like it is sticking causing it to rev high, but I cant find anything wrong. Everything seems good since the throttle snaps shut good, but I really have to back of the throttle hard to get it to stay at a low idle. Strange, but I'll figure it out.

I think it may have had sticky valve (or two...maybe more),which would not be odd for an engine that has been sitting for 12 years. I took the tag off the cafe and hit the highway today. Bike has good power, more bottom end it seems, but it wont run with my other bike for sure. So that settles the ''is the engine warmed over'' question...no,its not. That little cruise at 60+ mph musta freed up that valve or did something. It idles smooth now and doesnt sneeze or spit back any more.

I dont wanna tell you what you should do with your bike, but I'd go for it. Of course,I dont know how a true hard tail would ride, that might be a totally different thing. This long wheelbase feels really good. You could always stretch your swingarm and hardtail it back together like that other guy does those bikes(cant remember his name right now). You know, the cool build you were keeping to yourself?I was always told that choppers rode bad and steered awful. I think guys like to act as if you have to be a hard ass to manhandle one. Not the case. The steering IS a little floppy at low speed, but it goes away real fast.Like,3 or 4 mph fast. I feel much more comfortable in parking lots and turning out of side streets than my other bike, which is 100% stock. And the handling at speed is crazy. It resists turning of the handle bars! I can hold the throttle open by hand,by reaching between my legs and grabbing the carbs and just cruise. Lean, turn, change lanes...all without touching the bars at all. It just wants to go straight, and it does. Apparently the 1/8'' offset rear wheel is fine! Sorry for running my mouth so much,I'm just really excited right now. I was concerned about the health of this engine and if this chassis was gonna be a bone crusher. Now I know both of those worries are not gonna be a problem.

UPDATE: It's charging now! And for freeI adjusted the regulator like the manual outlines and now it outs out 14.3 - 14.7 volts. My meters kinda jumpy. I hate all these new digital meters. My needle on my old analog meter was so much easier to read. Advances in technology really suck sometimes.

Lol, wtf is that thing? It's cool, but I think I'd rather have 2 wheels than three, I'm not that old yet! And what's wrong with it if they only asking $600 for it?

And his name is Spyder, definately got my ideas rolling on this thing, only problem is the cash needs to start rolling to so I can get er started.

Glad the bike is running good and charging good for ya shiny, I was messing with my airbrush again last night so I can get some practice in for when you wanna do that bike up
One thing I definately learned is that I need a better system for pouring and mixing, lol, my poor garage floor....

HAHA Paint always ends up where its not s'posed to. If it was local and I had the cash I'd pick up that trike in a heartbeat. It's be a lot of fun on the farm!

Lets see,you have access to welding equipment. Stretching your s/arm would only need a little extra metal-FREE. Konging your frame is FREE. Replacing your shocks with struts-FREE. You dont need $$$,just metal and timeNot trying to be pushy, just encouraging you bud.

Alright,Lostson mentioned wanting to hear this thing run,and I think you did once yourself,if i recall? Here it is. Cold start, fires right up-good ol' Honda! Sound quality is poor,my camera is better at pics than videoBut I love the look of the bike at this angle.

LOL. Tools is Wilson, not meHe's our resident Yeti-if anyone ever ran into him in person we'd never know it.

I always say,do what you can. I had no idea if the motor, tranny or charging system in this bike would work or not. I didnt keep me from fixing everything else around it,though. True,it costs money to do that stuff, but the rest of your bike is healthy though,right?.Tires,brakes,chain... Chassis mods are free other than the required scrap metal. I'm positive there is enough guys on here that we could hook you up with some metal to work with . You could probably find some in your area for free if you knew where to look. I know that the local recycling center here is full of it! They buy metal for $7-12 per 100 lbs at the scrap yard. I will often see a piece of metal I like while in there and tell the guy "I'll give you 5 bucks for that stick of pipe"... its like 5 lbs, they got nothing in it. Theyre happy and I get cheap metal. That is how I get ALL of my aluminum. people are constatnly scrapping old signs and what not. The seat on the Cafe is an old sign I got like that. You just got be creative where you look. And if you ask and they turn you down...well,keep looking. people rarely turn down cash.  It's just like Hackjob,That motor will be a high compression big bore one day, hopefully! I spent money I didnt have on this chopper,so the big motor for HJ is even farther away than it was before. But it wont keep me from building the rest of the bike. I honestly envision HJ to be built, done and in new paint-completely ready to ride-long before it ever gets an engine. Either that or i'll have to sell a bike to finance the engine :)

I hear ya boss, will get around to it after I finish piecing my dirtbike back together, lol, that has been my latest project, just wanted to ride something that I own before winter comes again, know what I mean? And the lawnmower is cool and all, but it's not fast, and unfortunately it's hydro driven so I can't just jack-shaft it to make it go faster

Had to give you guys shit with all of your wilson shots, nobody sees faces on this forum unless they slip up in a video like that!
