Cool, will test that out when I get the chance and will probably clean the master cylinder out either way as it is nasty and I didn't want to clean it before in fear of hurting the plastic parts and what not in it.
How do you fill that tank? Make a sacrifice to the fuel gods in hopes they'll fill it for you? Was just wondering if by a fluke your issue might be the same as mine, of course you probably would have caught that way before my amateur-ass would
Got a new LED relay flasher from NAPA today for my turn signals, waiting for my cousin to machine up some new extensions for the signals as they are really short bullet-style signals. Also fixed my grandmother's scooter today just to forwarn everyone she will be back on the road soon
Still waiting on the dam turn signal mounts, have no idea what taking my cousin so long... got some more crap done on the bike the other day. I ran sea-foam through the oil and ran it for lik 5-10 mins and changed the oil, came out black and wasn't old oil. Changed the spark plugs again too since I fouled the old ones several times and am sure they needed retiring. Messed more with the idle screw and was running good, but sounded like the bitch was gonna winny and take off, was clopping like a damn horse and was freaking out. I adjusted the cam-chain tension to see if that helped, checked to make sure all cylinders were firing properly, everything was good. My buddy was over and goes "I think it's that thingy making noise". So I listened to him and tore off the ignition cover again and found the 3 bolts that go into the plate that is attached to the big starter gear were loose. I have no idea how they got loose, I don't remember loosening them and it was weird that they just started making noise, so I tightened them and presto! Quite engine...
So I have got the front brake on and got it not to lock up right away, but now I having a hell of a time bleeding the air out of the caliper and it pissed me off, so I decided that my exhaust was the next victim. I at first just wanted to remove the baffle but it wouldnt come out, so I then wrestled with the muffler and finally got it off after about an hour of fighting with it. Still having a hard time removing the baffle, but I decided I would run the bike with no muffler just for shits and giggles.
HAHA! I rode mine like that few a few weeks.I got a lot of looks...both good and bad!
Whats up with your brakes? They can be a pain if you try to bleed them like you would a car.Have you tried the whole reverse bleeding thing?Works like a charm. Pump the fluid in thru the bleeder screw,up to the master cylinder. You'll be done in ten minutes. Tools turned me on to it.Glad he did.
Yeah, like I said cops profile me and pull me over for obeying the law, lol, true story. I cant get them to pump up and I have had them pump up before so I know nothing is bad, they just being a bitch to bleed. What do I pump the fluid in with? Never thought of doing that
Use a pump type oil can, and a piece of 1/4 inch hose.

Ah, will have to buy one or borrow one, thanks again guys! So I think I am ditching that stupid megaphone and going with my glasspack I just bought from autozone, hehe
It sounds pretty good to me, especially at low rpms, this will get me by til I can do with the exhaust what I really want to. Not bad for a $20 muffler right? The rattling you hear in the video is just the muffler as I don't have it on there real tight, I want to buy some putty and slot the end of the pipe so I can clamp it on good with no leaks.
Btw, I really hate that killswitch, somehow I magically hit it everytime I try to start the bike so then I look stupid winding it going "shit! It was just running, why do you hate me god.... oh, whoops, just the killswitch again, my bad..."
I know, thanks slownugly, I love it, best $20 I have spent so far, I am kind of a sound junky so I like loud clean crisp music, and I like my exhaust to sound badass
Yea man it sounds really clean...which is kinda surprising $20 muffler??? Im looking at getting the 4-1 mac but dont want anything thats obnoxiously loud, I like loud but to a certain extent, and like youre saying clean loud is awesome!
I don't think it is really too much louder than the megaphone that was on it, I mean it is louder but a much deeper tone and more ballsy, you can prob listen to the video I put up of when I got the bike running, had the old megaphone on it then, and listen to the diff.
Dang Hellbilly, that DOES sound good! I like that man,you got my gears turningI might have to steal that idea. I think Piute used one on his,but I never got to hear his
Yeah I know, I figured for $20 I would give it a shot, if I don't like it i can take it back or put it on something else, lol. I can't wait to get it hooked up properly and hear it once it is broken in
The more I listen to that pipe the more I really like it, I think I am just going to stick with it because it is very distinct, I have never heard something that sounds like this and I think it's a keeper
I am itching to ride this thing, after I get out of work tomorrow I am calling up my cousin to see wtf is taking so long with my turn signal mounts and my bushing for my left hand grip. Also gonna try to get the bike over to my grandfather's to have him weld a frame mount to the new muffler so I don't rip the headers out of the motor...
The pipe you made is cool. I dig it and will definitely rip off that idea on my next bike. I wouldnt dream of taking it off.Glad you mentioned an exhaust hanger....been meaning to do that myself...for about 4,000 miles now.
lol, well at least you have no muffler hanging off of that header, the only downside to my muffler is it isn't light, but that's what hangers are for and I ain't looking to make this thing a racer so I could care less about the weight.
I called my cousin today, said he is working on those parts for me finally, I knew he was gone done south for a while but didn't realise he pretty much just got back. I am gonna try to plan on having the bike on the road finally next week, can't f-in wait!
Alright, got a mount made up and the muffler secured properly, boy does it sound good. My grandfather said something about it too, he was shocked cause he is a Harley guy and he liked the sound of my bike. Also reverse-bled the brakes, thank you guys so much for that bit of knowledge! Had to grind the pads down to get them to not be locked up, go figure they were just too thick... Rode it around my grandparent's road illegaly, runs like a champ and was so much fun! Let my uncle ride it and he beat the piss out of it, loved it, said it pulls like a bastard around 7K rpms, and he is a Harley guy. Funny how an old Honda can make these guys act like little kids
