I miss my woodstove, but NOT cutting, splitting and stacking wood

That's a cozy little work space ya got there! I could see getting comfy in there and staying for a loooong time.Just looks peaceful.
Yeah it is peaceful.  No one around this spot so I can work for hours without losing my train of thought.  Wierd but I enjoy working on this stuff almost as much as I like riding.
I do hear you there,But mine is painting
I've been reading up on bike painting, I think I'll get some old tanks and fenders to practice on before I do mine.

I know exactly what you mean. But it's a vicious circle for me. When I'm working on something it bothers me to hurry up and ride it,but when I'm riding I'm always thinking about the stuff i wanna work on.Still looking for that happy medium ...

LOL, yeah, I kind of felt rushed there for a while but then I got into the "doing it right" mode and got caught up in that.  Especially with all the great information from people on our site.

No. I thought I wanted one. Then I rode one. Around a parking lot. It was enough for me.  The Brit twin bug is officially outta my system.

Finally found a quicker way to polish these.  I took Shiny's advice to use steel wool.  It took the oxidation off the carbs quick then it was EASY to polish.  Thx Shiny, I would have never polished these otherwise.

I did some work for the PO and saw this bike in his driveway and ended up buying it from him.  Seemed like decent people.  He said it was running fine when he parked it so I just took his word on it.  I hadn't checked the oil tank level in it till today and it wasn't even showing on the stick.  It has the big honkin 630 chain on it and it probably has about 2" of play in it so I thought, "Man I hope that chain didn't scrape the side of the case and wear a hole in it".  So I pulled the sprocket cover off on the engine and scraped the gearcase clean till I could see it, Not even a scratch.  Breathed sigh of relief, ahhhh.  I've seen a honkin 630 rub a hole clean through the case before.  Messed that engine up.  I started pulling the alternator cover off and oil started leaking from the transmission case so I was glad to see there was some oil in it.
PO also told me the charging system had quit working but I ran out of time and didnt have time to pull the rotor and stator.  Will test those tomorrow but I did find this nasty little weak link in the chain.  I would like to replace this entire plug, are these available?

I believe Alfa bought some of those connectors. I'm pretty sure there is some info on it in his thread.

Stator and Field coils checked out ok today.  Looks like that nasty connector is the problem.

If I rejet my carbs do I have to synchronize them again?

Nope. You can adjust anything you want. The only time you ever have to re-sync is when you change the adjustment of the slides themselves with the external nuts on top. You're fine.

Greasing the swingarm, didnt get any back pressure till 20 shots of grease.  Grease came out of curb side at 25 shots, finally came out of street side at about 30 shots, muddy grease started to clean up at about 40 shots.

Looks like I'll be replacing the rotors, they all look like this.

The reason the rotors are messed up.

How do I get the baffles out of this pipe?  Drill the rivet and grind the epoxy?

Unless you just want a totally open exhaust, I would start with drilling 1/2" holes in the end of the baffle until it sounds good. Cutting the baffle out might cause harm to the outer pipe.
