Progress will probably crawl to a stop on my projects. I got the block delivered today. 3700 lbs per pallet of 105 blocks. I had no clue they weighed that much. Lowe's delivered all five pallets of block for $20. Pays to have a commercial account. But today is the first time I've ever really hauled much weight in the bed of my truck. Just a half ton Ford. I saw the scales when I went to get a ton of sand. It was actually 1950 pounds. Six bags of mortar mix @ 75 lbs per bag and another 300 lbs of corner blocks.
For 200k miles, 30 years and a total of 2,700lbs I was quite impressed how little it squatted! Loving this little truck more all the time. I was also surprised at how physically small a ton of sand is. About half as much volume as I expected. Operation Muddy Foundation has commenced.

You know, that TRUCK is NOT a chevy. You only started to load it. I have often hauled more then twice that on my old 93 F-150 Extended cab. I abused the hell out of that TRUCK, and it kept coming back for more. Sold it with 475K miles, because the transmission was starting to slip, and I did not have the $$$$ to fix it.  TOOLS

Thanks, Easy. 40*f here today with 20 mph winds. Supposed to be 8*f with 25 mph winds in the a.m. High's in low 40's. Yay! At least the wind is drying the mud up. Solid clay here. Does NOT perc at all.
I got 100 blocks laid today. But I didn't get the first batch of mortar mixed til noon. Three hours of getting the water operational and the mud off the footers. Then I had to leave at 4, so I'm pretty pleased with 100 blocks of 4 hours. Hope to do more tomorrow.
