Well since Im not out riding I guess I can post a few pics. Got the front end taken care of, my girlfriend makes hula hoops and they use this taper called gaffer, which is a cloth like matte tape. It kinda reminded me of exhaust wrap so I stole some of it from her and wrapped the top part of the forks with it to cover up some of that chrome. I plan to re wrap it when I install my seals and gaiters, but for now its just for test run to see if it can hold up to the ton! muahahahaha!!
I also cut down and sanded my levers for a more racy look and relocated a blade style fuse box under the tank. You can see where the original fuse box was between the bar clamps....oh wait no you cant!? ta-da!
I ended up cutting the stock handlebar clamp/fuse box down and making it to where it just has two clamps instead of that big bulky chunk of aluminum. Since I cut up my handlebar mounts it also cut off my choke mount. So I enlarged the hole on one side of the triple tree where the stock gauge mount went and cut a section out to slide the choke cable in and voila I had an existing, low-profile choke mount!
Later down the road I plan to get shortened cables and what not but for now it all works so Im leaving it!
After taking the pics I realized that I look gigantic on this bike!? Maybe its just the angle or something?
Anyways, enough jabberin heres the pics......
Here you can see the cut down levers and gaffer tape...
Heres what the original handlebar clamp/fuse box looked like....
Here it is after an hour with a hacksaw and a sander. You can kinda see the choke in front of the air line. Its very low profile and you can hardly see it unless youre looking for it....score!
Heres the choke mount (right side) and what it looked like before drilling and cutting on the left side, it worked out great!....sorry for the cell phone its all I got right now
indicator lights mounted and shining bright! oooooooooooooo pretty!
IS THAT THE ILLUSTRIOUS NORTH AMERICAN TOOLS!!!??? oh...no its just that slownugly kid...darn!
hahahaha those above pictures looked like a flip book! Phew I definitely need to get out more!
