Very true. I was standing there with plasma cutter in hand ,about to whack the rear mount off when I thought,''you know, i dont remember it being off before???''. I'm glad I checked it before i went gonzo on it But thanks for looking out for me. If you see anything else that looks hokie  holler at me. I get in a rush and overlook stuff sometimes...ok, alot of times.

Can do, I am the same way, someone has to watch me when I work on my own stuff or I will forget something, usually I end up tearing down and putting back together and have all these extra screws left over, lol.

Have you thought about puttin one of the plow lookin things that go right about where the oil filter is? I don't remember what they are called, but I am sure if you put one on it would totally fit the theme of this bike and maybe add some downforce for better high-speed handling? Which if anyone needs it it would be you..

....what's that supposed to mean?! Air dam I think it's called. I call 'em cattle pushers My 'theme' changes daily. When I first started this bike I wanted it to be instantly recognizable as a CB750. Tired of people asking if my other bike is a BMW...well, i think that theme is long gone now. I'm thinking of a rising sun paint job right now. But who knows what i'll want tomorrow.

Re: '78K Resto-Mod...name to come later

Hellbilly429
Just put the letterin right on it, cb750 and a honda symbol, should clear that up.

And I was just sayin that you like to drive like a maniach, nothin wrong with that tho!

If I was you I would focus on making the bike a show quality custom bike that can turn heads both with looks and performance, and forget what other people ask what it is, all they need to know is that it's yours and they can't have it, lol.

I was thinking about the lettering the other day. CB750...hmmm...I'd rather it say HJ836 And you're right. I have lost interest in having it look like a CB. It'll just be whatever it is.

Haha, yeah I did, I was like wtf does hj836 mean? So rather than ask I figured Google would tell me! It even had something to do with Virginia so I was like well this must be it, but is very weird to name your bike after...

lol. That was pretty funny being from VA and all.

Exhaust routing plan B: 1 5/8'' into a 2 1/2'' collector on each side. I just cant find any way to run them up high that wont be right on my legs,so they have to go under the bike. Kills the high ground clearance look I'd really like to have, but at least the weight is down low. Life is full of compromises

Clears the oil drain plug ok,but the pan wont come off without pulling the pipes. I can live with that

Oil filter housing clears OK

Not as hidden as I would like, but it's tucked as tight as it will go. Dang, these are some wide engines!

Maybe in another month I will have time to work out the tail pipe/muffler.
