No, because sleeves are just a bigger version of the bore. Not there to just be a replacement for a bore job.

You will have to get them bored. That's not really an option you can get around, sorry man.
Turbos, Hondas, 4-bangers, what could go wrong?

Gee,thanks Craig. Seems like 836 at 65mm is actually kinda pushing it. Now I have that to think aboutJK man.
I disagree. Any site out there says the 836 kit will run on stock sleeves bored out, has to be some truth to it. If it says 65 is the dead limit, then run that. I think you'll be perfectly fine, boss.

So you can use modern rubber? Am I missing something? Why can't our bikes use modern rubber?

I just read through your entire thread over at custom fighters.  Great stuff.  Can't wait to see this thing completed.  Gonna be badass.  Can't believe you're doing it on the budget that you have.

Of course, with the amount of work you're doing on it your opportunity cost is huge, but I think it's awesome to know that you built it yourself.

The stock sleeves can be safely bored to 850cc. The next 836cc kit I do, I will definitly send to Red at Cycle one to be bored!!!!!!!!

Thanks Sees'. I really appreciate that. I hate to sound stupid but I gotta ask. What does it mean when you say my opportunity cost is huge? Not trying to be a jerk, just curious.

No offence taken.  I'm more than a little nerd, and probably enjoy over-explaining things too much.

Short answer in this context: Opportunity cost = money you could have made if you spent it working for money instead of working on your project.

Long answer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opportunity_cost

For example, if you put 1,000 hours into a project, and you could reasonably make $30/hour doing other work, then your opportunity cost for the project is $30,000.

This of course ignores that projects are well, _FUN_ and work is usually not.

Red will probably end up doing these bores. I'm still trying to talk my engine guy into doing it for me. $200 just seems way too high to me. I used to pay $18 a hole for bore and hone on my drag motors AND there was no shipping involved in that. Since the studs on these engines extend past both sides of the cylinder case there is no need for a deck plate while boring/honing is there? Thats why I cant get him on board.

Anyway,I finally got off my butt and built the other side exhaust. Needs blasting then it'll be ready for powder!

No plate needed to bore these cylinders. However the taper needs to be put back on the bottom inside of the sleeve.

Cool.Thats what I was thinking. I couldn't see how the fasteners on these engines could produce bore distortion. As far as the taper thats just the ramp on the bottom of the sleeves to help the rings slide past? I mean, the bores are straight other than that, right?

Piute,I wish I could put it on the ground. I still gotta make the adapter rings for the rotors.Hopefully I can score a piece of metal for that some time this week.

I also completely forgot (again) to do something about an ignition switch. I'm really gonna need one of those
