Thanks for the compliments. I have more details to take care of but as soon as I get the muffler I will be able to start the bike up and get the tuning process started.

Put on my flyscreen today. Very exciting.
Never had a bike with a fairing before.
Makes the area around the front headlight and gages seem more finished.

I'm not a big fan of fairings but that one looks very nice.I am,however,a big fan of bar end mirrors on a cafePurely personal taste.Where did you find that windshield?I would like to have one like that.

But if the mirrors are on the bar ends and you fall down, then you have broken glass and bent up mirror -right?

You are right. If you fall down and do not get injured, who cares about a mirror!

Today I finished the exhaust ,and muffler mounting with brackets.
It took hours of work to make it look this simple.
One special chrome clamp from Joker Machine.
I made the exhaust tail piece with a XP Performance Silencer from Cycle Shack.
Cycle X, 4 into 2 into 1 header.

The velocity stacks were installed and have fine brass screens inside of them.
Made by Mike at Steel Dragon Performance, Deer River MN.,.

Now the engine can be started and tuned.

I started the bike up and it needed full choke.

The idle does not go back down fast enough so I tightened the clamps on the rubber boots on the intake.
It helped.

The oil pressure light did not go out but the pressure gauge showed plenty of oil pressure.
I fixed that problem. Ground from the oil pressure light was incorrect.

Charging system is working properly.

Still seems lean. I will take off the carbs and add one more shim under all the needles.
Also will go up one step on the pilot jet.

I will make a video when it runs right.
'BTW it sounds good.

Wouldn't it be nice if you could just go to your local Honda dealer and buy a set of carb jets?
For a reasonable price.

NO YOU CAN'T - You have to order them from Canada and pay $12.50 for shipping and wait at least a week.

Just dreaming.....Oh, where was I

Some local dealerships are legit...occasionally.I got my jets local for a very fair price. The mail order places DO rip you off. They charge you "vintage" prices for your "vintage" machine. The jets that fit the Hondas ( my round tops,at least) fit other "less desirable" bikes as well.As long as your local guy doesn't hold you up for vintages prices too, they can be had at reasonable prices.I got 2 sets of mains and 2 sets of primaries for around $60.Comes to about $3.75 per jet is still kinda expensive, but it sure beats having them shipped from far away lands. You know, there is actually a lot of work that goes in to making those lil tiny things.

That is great news Shinyribs.
Could you tell the forum members where that Honda dealership
is located just in case some of the forum members lives in that area?
