No,i was referring to the aluminum bracket on the right side and also thought yours was a "78".As for my(bracket) was cracked needing one this winter, there were lots of changes in the 77-78 that were not on previous years, front dual disc,.does yours have a rear disc?your's very well is a "S S"I'm only 99.9 % mine is l.o.l.
I say you just clear coat it (frame),well your trying to put pipes on a bike they most likely don't belong obviously, glad you found that out for me ($) cause I really like those 4x4s,guess have to go with 4x4 drags, not up sweeps, there cheaper new too. Relocate the kickstand lot cheaper then new set of pipes.hope ing my neighbor gets that bender he mentioned,..Piute..let see how do I confuse him Tuesday hahaha.

Here is what i picked up today.Tires are new, less than 300 miles.Chrome on wheels is spotless.Tires are Dunlops.Front is F24g 110/90-19   and rear is  491 Elite 120/90B18.Hope these are good tires,i dig the tread pattern. He also hooked me up with almost complete rear brake assembly including the correct swingarm.Need the adjuster nut and barrel(??wrong lingo??) for the brake rod.Everything has new bearings and seal, swingarm seals too.Only catch is one bearing on the brake assembly froze while stored.Looks clean as a pin,no rust anywhere. It will rotate to and fro a little, but still not free.Oh well, its a startI gave $300 for the lot,too much???Love spokes 'n' drums
