Never mind...brand is "Factory Spec".Is that good?

What factory? Spec, for what? Could be Radio Flyer, for a tri-cycle. You could e-mail the seller, and ask if it is spec, for an F-Bomb with a Suzuki tank. You know that tank will add 10% more HP If, you could get a 3/4 race cam, that bike would sherd tires. And pull wheelies at 150 mph.

Started trimming all the unused tabs off the frame today and my grinder died. All had was burr bits and my die grinder.Flip flops are not recommended foot wear for carbide burr bits.Still tweezing... Was hoping i could reuse my handle bars, but looking at it now it looks to bobbery. Laid a flat piece of pipe in the clamps and didnt like leaning forward that much.wasnt comfy. Might go cafe-bobber hybrid for awhile until i find a solution.Nice lookin' tank though, huh?haha
Wow!Don't miss that look at all

Found a small disappointment this morning. My side covers don't fit exactly as i thought they did.I didn't realize they don't follow the contours of the frame rails.Looks like poo IMO.Is there another model cover i can get that fits the "triangle" of the frame,or do i need to just whack mine off?Do all the covers interchang on the same tabs?
Heres what i got
Heres what i thought i had

I do not know if the early covers will interchange onto your frame. I would make some fiberglass ones. There are several videos on youtube about it. It is very easy. Then, you could probably get $50.00, for the old ones.

That is what i was thinking.Sell mine, make what i want. I really dont care if there is a cover over the oil tank or not, might just make an aluminum cover for the electronics and be done with it.Back to grinding tabs,i guess!

Those are the same covers I kept seeing ,didn't like them much either,What I didn't like was they stuck out so far from frame and my short legs would rubb the finish off in no time. The one I made go straight to the frame with a snap button used to hold grills on,I've only did the top holes not sure if I wont the whole"tri-angle"filled , ..AND like you said the oil side don't look bad but also don't look complete.
Cut the one's down that you have and mold that.just as much work as making more,But if you can get 50$ do it cause thats what there going for, cost you 25 ? to make a set that are to your liking,
I was worried about a short (water / Rain)if using alluminum, but also thought of rubber coating the back side, also bend in some for the front so not to get derect rain or wind behind. Put alot of thought into them when I had to make mine,...Piue N Judose...
there are more ground (green)wires on here then needd and I just added one more

Shiny ribs, I've been looking back over some ofmthese old posts and really like the paint finish on your motor. How exactly did you achieve it? Preparation, primer, finish paint?
|
Administrator
|
Good advice Piute Peter,im not sure of the exact paint i used but i will go look and post it tonight.
Now i need opinions.Any and all opinions cause i only wanna do this once.
I am mocking up my tail section i wanna build.I ended up making it a little taller than i planned in order to reuse the tail light i already have.
I was wondering if it is too tall?
Looked really bad at first so i decided to paint it black to get a better idea of it with some color on it,and it seemed to help with looking too tall.
What do you guys think?Seriously!!!!1If it looks like poo just say so.You will not hurt my feelings one bit.Any and all opinions PLEASE!!!!
Here it is bare plywood with a piece of old seat cover to give the basic dimensions of the seat pad im planning
Here it is darker. Whaddya guys think? Be honest and BLUNT.Like i said,if it looks like poo just tell me please.THANK YOU!!
|
|
It seems too long to me both in the seat area and the tail part.
|
Administrator
|
Thank you!!! Im afraid i cannot shorten the seat area.looks long to me,too.but i actually feel cramped on it as it is
