Unhappy Harley Rider.
I was on my way home from the hardware store, and noticed a guy on a Harley at a stoplight. He was headed in the same direction as I was going to turn, so I watched as he took off. He had ape hanger handle bars that were at least 8" above his shoulders, and when he took off he was weaving back and fourth as he was attempting to speed shift. Now the road he was headed down has three schools in a 1/2 mile stretch. There are several signs, and flashing lights to inform you it is a school zone, and the speed limit is 30 mph when the lights are flashing. Now I had just been on this road going to the hardware store, and had seen the cops with their speed trap set up, so I knew they were there, but every other car coming up the road was flashing their headlights to inform cars going the other way that the cops are ahead. But as I drove by at a blistering 25 mph in the toolhauler, there he was sitting on his Harley looking very unhappy.

Outlaw biker being hassled by the man. It will give him a good story to embellish next time he is sitting around watching Sons of Anarchy on his upgraded cable package & giant flat screen TV when all his ''brah's'' come to visit and they slam back some wine coolers.

I know it's exciting to finally be on your bike after a long winter [those who can -- I'm still waiting], but . . . c'mon!:

Calgary man accused of going 211 km/h on motorcycle, 100 km over the posted speed limit
A Calgary man was charged with speeding and careless driving after police pulled over a motorcycle going 211 km/h on Highway 1 near Kananaskis west of Calgary on Tuesday evening.

Police were conducting routine speed enforcement on Highway 1 near the Highway 40 Kananaskis turnoff around 7:20 p.m. when an officer heard “a loud sound of an eastbound motorcycle engine rapidly accelerating.”

When the 2007 Suzuki GSX-R750 came into view, the officer clocked the vehicle going 211 km/h in the 110 km/h zone and pulled the bike over.

A 26-year-old Calgary man was arrested, and later released on charges of speeding and careless driving. He has a mandatory court appearance set for May 8 in Cochrane.

“But there’s still lots of remnants of winter left on the highway that may not be readily visible to motorcyclists or to any operator of a motor vehicle on our highways right now,” Hardy warned.

“There’s still lots of gravel on shoulders, turning lanes, and frost creating wet, icy, greasy areas on the highway. There’s still lots of winter hazards on the road even though they look dry.”

He added he hopes motorcyclists keep those concerns in mind before hitting the road.

Standing in the shop, tired and burned out. Looking for the motivation I need to work on one of many projects. Then my neighbors calls. He needs help wiring something up. So I grab my tools and some materials and gladly run over to help out.

Can anyone explain that? lol

Just read an article on The Onion about a cop killing a guy. The article explains how there just happened to be someone ther to video, bla bla bla, planted weapon, bla bla bla. Was completely satirical and entertaining.

Got down to the comments since usually that is the funniest part of the articals. There were people actually saying that the cop needs to die, racist comments... etc.

Is this how stupid people have become that they read a fake artical on a fake news site and believe it? The human race REALLY scares me sometimes

And I disagree with the comment about old people. The smartest/best mechanics I know are ''old'' people.

Back when I was a kid, my mom told my dad the car needed a quart of oil.  He said "Go ahead and get a can  from the garage, and put it in." When asked where, Dad replied, "Unscrew the cap at the front of the engine, and pour it in."

So, she did.  Uncapped the radiator, and poured in a quart of 10W30.

10 minutes later, Dad thought maybe he wasn't clear on his instructions, and asked Mom about it.

"Right in front, like you told me."

Dad then slowly drove the car to the service station/mechanic place, had the cooling system drained and flushed, and from then on, took care of all maintenance for the car.

Mom did learn later how to check and maintain fluids, with Dad's tutelage.

Just showing off.....

Found a smoking deal ($50) on a brand new compressor head at the flea market several months ago. Put it on my air compressor, but the pulley is massive compared to ''stock''. It turned horribly slow and the belt was having a hard time gaining traction since the huge pulley was spreading the belt so far open, causing it to barely contact the drive pulley. I wanted to step up from a 3.25'' dia. to a 4.5'' diameter pulley and also take advantage of the two-groove on the new compressor head. Cheapest pulley I could find that fit my motor was gonna be $85. Odd size. Screw that. So I did this.

Fixed! Drained the tank (overdue) and it took 4 minutes to refill the 60 gallon tank. The compressor still sounds like it's running slow, but any bigger pulley will work the motor too hard. It's pulling 5 amps while running, so I'm happy with the setup. :)

Motor sounds a little slow? So with all those bikes sitting around when do we see a thread on converting a CB750 engine into a compressor motor????

I knew a guy that made an air compressor out of a 390 CI FORD engine. 4 cylinders on one side ran, while the 4 on the other side pumped air. He used it for sand blasting.

One of the local auto parts store around here used to sell a "kit" with instructions on how to do that. Worked on any motor that used 14mm plugs. The old guy that ran the place used to put those kits together. Then he sent his son to college, paid for him to get a business degree, then handed him the reigns. Sonny boy decided the place needed to me modernized and promptly ran the place on to the ground.

It was sad. That was a true one stop shop. They had a front end shop, rear end shop, glass shop, upholstery shop, full machine shop, transmission shop, mounted tires and rebuilt carburetors. The only thing the didn't do was paint and custom exhaust. It's still open, but only the parts counter.

A motorcyclist was left with minor injuries after he ripped a deer in half while driving his bike on Highway 417 in Ottawa on Thursday.

The rider was driving close to Boundary Road at about 6 a.m. when the animal ran across the highway, CBC News reported.

Paramedic Ian Courville witnessed the incident while on his way to work. He said the motorcycle "literally" split the deer in half.

"I saw a bunch of cars hitting the brakes in front of me and then kind of a cloud of what appeared to be red in front of me," he told the network.

"The deer didn't suffer much. He was split in half so he died instantly, I'm assuming."
